ra7c7er Posted March 4, 2011 Posted March 4, 2011 It really does look like orange cream. Now you need to build a 50's ice cream stand to park it in front of. Great color and nice build.
parki Posted March 4, 2011 Author Posted March 4, 2011 Yes it is mat Orange , i'll try and take some better pictures tomorrow in the daylight. pics didn't come out to grate under artifical light. Thanks
Bernard Kron Posted March 4, 2011 Posted March 4, 2011 (edited) I said it elsewhere, but it bears repeating. The concept of a show/race car done in flats and metallics rather than the usual gloss and chrome is outstanding! The radical stance, bling-free w-motor and creamcicle flat orange paint look tough! maltsr Posted March 4, 2011 Posted March 4, 2011 Even though I prefer shiny paint, I've been following this build and that colour really pops. Nice job
Dr. Cranky Posted March 4, 2011 Posted March 4, 2011 That looks fabulous. I hope to be able to do that with a blue I'm mixing to shoot soon.
parki Posted March 4, 2011 Author Posted March 4, 2011 (edited) Thanks guys Thanks virgil, just practice first to get a feel for the paint. Took me a few attempts to sus it out. Love your youtube channel by the way. Gonna have a go at salting one of my models. Edited March 4, 2011 by parki
ra7c7er Posted March 4, 2011 Posted March 4, 2011 What did you use for the steering wheel? It looks different from the body almost textured or something.
Lyle Willits Posted March 4, 2011 Posted March 4, 2011 Very cool. I like the color and the blown W-head Chevy motor.
parki Posted March 4, 2011 Author Posted March 4, 2011 What did you use for the steering wheel? It looks different from the body almost textured or something. Tamiya Gold then covered that with tamiya clear orange.
Custom Mike Posted March 5, 2011 Posted March 5, 2011 Man, that just looks sweet Adam, I love the satin finish, it makes this beauty stand out even more!
Olds Rocket 88 Posted March 5, 2011 Posted March 5, 2011 Very cool color combination... looks great !!
parki Posted March 6, 2011 Author Posted March 6, 2011 Very nice, what are the front wheels from? Thanks guys . The wheels are from the MPC Winged express Altered Rod drag car. I striped the crumby chrome off them and gave them a lick of paint.
