Clay Posted March 9, 2011 Posted March 9, 2011 (edited) I haven't been posting much here lately, so I just wanted to give you guys an update. The move up to Virginia sucked, all four of us were sick, but apparently I was the lesser sick of the four, at least thats what my wife said. Her father-in-law came with us, then after we got here he got really sick. Anyway, we got a house on the 3rd, on the 7th we got all our stuff from storage and unpacked both kids rooms so far and almost unpacked the kitchen. I should be getting 10 days starting next Thursday so I can get everything unpacked and get rid of what we don't need or have room for. I am leary of unpacking the models because I can't really claim that on a damage statement. Edited March 9, 2011 by Clay
crazyjim Posted March 9, 2011 Posted March 9, 2011 I was just asking myself yesterday how you were doing, Clay. You must have read my mind. Sounds like you got there safe & sound. Best of luck in the new place. Semper Fi.

Clay Posted March 9, 2011 Author Posted March 9, 2011 Thanks guys, I hope to have everything unpacked and in its place soon.
mikemodeler Posted March 9, 2011 Posted March 9, 2011 Okay Clay, you have moved, you are feeling better, and you have unpacked the kids and the kitchen. Now when in the heck are you gonna post a build ?!?!?!?!?!?!?! Just kidding, the move is bad enough but to be sick on top of it must really stink. Get settled in and we will all be here to see your next creation. Hopefully you have had a chance to find that Hobbytown USA near you and made friends with the staff there! Thank you again for your service.
Clay Posted March 9, 2011 Author Posted March 9, 2011 As soon as I get the garage unpacked and the bench set back up I will try to get something going. It's cold up here though.
mikethepoormodeler Posted March 9, 2011 Posted March 9, 2011 Hey, Clay. As others have said, thanks for serving as you do. I have a nephew who just finished his "vacation" at Parris Island. Hope he had a good time at the beach!! What part of Virginia did you move to?

Virginia Beach?? ! I just wish it would get so cold up here in the Berkshires. It hasn't stopped snowing here yet. Good to hear you're on the way to recovery and unpacking recovery. whale392 Posted March 10, 2011 Posted March 10, 2011 Clay, T.A.M.S is located in Virginia Beach. They used to meet at the Library, and also at the Va.Bch Hobbytown store. Jerry Quick is still a member, and Joe Miles (also a member) used to work at the HobbyTown. I still keep in contact with jerry, but I haven't heard from Joe in a while. On a side note; what area of 'The Beach' did you move to? I was living up in Norfolk (Gate4 area and later 'little 5 points') and used to cruise down to the Haygood shopping center on almost every Friday I was home. I used to run down Indian Ripple Road and fish at the Great Dismal Swamp and drive out to Pungo and watch the maniacs on bikes jump the Pungo Ferry bridge.
59 Impala Posted March 10, 2011 Posted March 10, 2011 Hello Clay and thank you for your service. I was stationed at Fort Story (Army), just 2 miles from the "beach". Of course I was there back in 1967 for Viet Nam training. I hope you get to like it where you are stationed. I'm looking forward to seeing your builds again. Do you have any Studebaker builds in the near future? Take care, Dan
Clay Posted March 17, 2011 Author Posted March 17, 2011 Dan, I got quite a few to finish. Do have an update. I have ten days off starting tomorrow to totally unpack everything (hopefully).
Agent G Posted March 17, 2011 Posted March 17, 2011 Semper Fi my brother. Just keep putting one foot in front of the other. G
