Carmikeman Posted March 24, 2011 Author Posted March 24, 2011 well, got my Hendrix 60 Ford PU today from Steve Kohler. i'm not an expert on resin pieces but, i must say i think it's a nice casting. there is some flashing to deal with. does have a few thin resin spots like in the grille. nothing Evercoat won't take care of. thought i would post some pics so you can be your own judge. thanks guys.
mikemodeler Posted March 25, 2011 Posted March 25, 2011 It might be my eyes but that frame and bed floor look like they have a little bit of a twist in them. Are they sitting flat on the table or are they truly warped slightly? I agree that it doesn't look too bad, but I would be worried about a warped frame or bed floor.
Carmikeman Posted March 25, 2011 Author Posted March 25, 2011 yeah there is a little bit of a twist in the bedfloor and as for the frame, the twist is on the very back from the rearend housing back. don't think either will be an issue with some epoxy and clamps. shouldn't effect the stance of the truck. anybody gotta 1/25th scale frameshop? lol

Carmikeman Posted March 28, 2011 Author Posted March 28, 2011 thanks for the tip Steve. iread on the Modelhause website about doing that. i mocked the 60 up with wheels and tires and drilled the axles out just to see if it was off. it sat fine. most of the twist is from the rearend to the back bumper and i think when i glue it up it will square up ok.
dimaxion Posted March 30, 2011 Posted March 30, 2011 here is the link that Mr. Steve was talking about. http://www.resinrealm.net/Star/HendrixGallery/HendrixAll.html The '57-'58-'59-'60 Ford Pickups shared all the same sheet metal . The grilles , details , and powerplants are the difference . AAM did a 1960 , Ed Fluck Jr did a '60 with '57-'58 & '59 Grilles available . Modelhaus offers the '60 . I believe Modelhaus makes the 8' bed . Ed Fluck Jr offered the 6' bed . Both fleetside . I don't know what Hendrix makes . The '61 -'63 (or '64) Ford pickups were the unibodies . I wish for a '61 and a '65 (the first year for twin I beam) , Thanx ..
Terry Sumner Posted April 1, 2011 Posted April 1, 2011 It sure appears to me that resin was cast directly from the kit because I don't see any difference.
modelmonster Posted February 4, 2012 Posted February 4, 2012 How much does a 60 f100 usually sell for. Does the resin kit come with all of the suspension parts needed?
