Wow or whoa! I don't know which.

Keep it going, Chris. You just keep making a super-model out of each little part! Awe-inspiring.

We're not worthy. We're not worthy. We're not worthy! -_-

That's too bad about the reply you got from Hendricks, Chris. A person might have held out a little hope that if a fellow modeler from that part of the country could go to their place and take pictures of the car that that might have been a last-ditch option (at least it wouldn't be a time investment for their staff), but it doesn't look like they would probably entertain that option either, beings that they evidently don't allow pics to be taken. Shoot! I feel for you... I'm sure you'll be able to a great job of gathering reference info that will help you finish this magnificent build. Your injector hat drawings look great, BTW...!

Ira... thank you

Danno... you know I am going to keep at it trying to make every part as acursct as I can.

Scott... I have realized its ok that they couldn't help. I was hopeful that maybe they would seeing what I am doing here. Well a while back (abouy a year ago I think) I was considering driving out to Prudhommes in SoCal to see the car in person but thats when I realized that he had sold it to Mr. Hendricks. I will continue to use what pictures I have and make the best I can from it. Thank you on the injector hat. I have done a little more work on it and am currently working on the blower. I hope to have it done in a day or two and will post pics of it when its done.

Chris, maybe Rick could be cornered at Barrett Jackson in January-he is usually there. If he were able to meet you and see first hand your enthusiasm and sincerity, he might agree to work something out for you.

That's a great idea Dale. Chris just needs to connect with him and show him some detailed pictures, display his devotion to his build and how he's striving for utmost accuracy.

Dale... That would be pretty cool if I was able to talk to him for just a few mins if possible. only tough thing is that would be available to get access to him. I am sure maybe people like him have a lot of people around but you never know it may be as simple as going up and introducing and being able to say Hi...lol

Brad... I was hoping that whoever received the email I sent would be able to pass the link of the build on to Mr. Hendrick. I even mentioned that in the email but I am sure they didn't....

Ok Fellas.... so I have been in Design mode and no physical progress has been made one the build but I am getting closer to having a few more parts closed to being done to send to Shapeways. I have added a few more things to the injector hat to pretty much finish it off and I have started progress on the Blower. The blower still needs the ribs added, mounting bosses located, mounting holes. some detail to the side body of the blower as well as the "M" logo on front and back panels. Here are a few pics to share with you what it looks like at the moment....

Here is the blower, you can see it still needs the ribs, mount holes/bosses:

Here is the back panel, and I need to add the "M" to the two circular bosses:

HEre is the blower in an exploded view to show you how many pieces I am making this from, My plan is to add some more holes and stuff on the inside to make this from the least amount of material but still be strong for the part. Shapeways charges by how much material is used per part, the less I can use the cheaper it will be:

And you know how I have to mock things up. I had to create an assembly with with blower and injector hat to see what it would look like together:

Not that you need to make it anymore complex but how awesome would it be if the bug catcher was hollow and the blower top was open, Do a movable butterfly and you could see it all. this is some very impressive work, thumbs up.

Joe... thanks... you know I am always trying to out do myself... lol. I think by now people have to think i am nuts...haha i could alwas draw up and add the rotors...lol ;)

James.... funny thing at one point in time I was considering making working butterflies when pressing the gas pedal down and the butterflies would open. I had talked myself out of it thinking that It may be too delicate and the fact I didnt want the risk of something breaking after this build is completed. Althought I am condidering it on a future build.

Henry... it would be cool for sure.

That Mooneyham blower and hat are out of this world Chris. Maybe you should just render up the entire funny car and have it 3D printed. LOL

Your stuff is always top notch, whether its on the bench or computer rendered. Love it all!!

You are right, he is always seated in the restricted area. You would have to spot up some place and hope he exits into the general public area.

Hakan.... Thank you

Henry... I make them working but probably won't have the gas pedal working. Just will be able to position the butterflies

Brad.... Thank you... Lmao at having whole car 3D printed.. May get done faster that way... Hahaha thank you for the kind words. I can't wait to get these done and have them in my hand. I hope the print nice and look good.

Dale ..... you are right about him sitting in a restricted area.maybe I could get lucky and run into him somewhere there.

Henry.... We shall see when I get the parts....lol

Mr. Sobak,

This may be old news to you, and maybe you have already been down this road, but there is a gentleman by the name of Skip Allum that has been Don Prudhomme's right hand man for many years. As I understand it, he was very involved and instrumental in several of Prudhomme's restoration projects. I don't know how to get in touch with him directly, but if you attempted to contact him through the Snake Racing site, perhaps he could help you with some of the information that the Hendricks organization will not. Just a thought.

Henry... you need to have credentials to get to the area that he usually is in.

Steve... Thank you for the info I really appreciate it. I think I remember seeing Skips name on the snake racing facebook page, actually someone saying the name Skip but I couldn't remember it for the life of me. I will try an get in touch with him to see if they can get any of the info I was hoping to get from the Hendricks organization. I will keep everyone posted. IT is definitely worth a shot at trying to get a hold of him.

Ok Fellas.... So I sat in front of the computer some more doing more work to the blower. I will tell you this much, I am about ready to be done designing this blower...lol I still have a couple more things but she is almost there. I am planning on drawing up the mounting bolts to make sure my mounting holes have enough clearance for the bolts not to hit the side of the blower. I was trying a few different ways of saving the picture out a jpegs some with edges some with out them shown. I need to mess around with rendering a pic if I can in the programs. anyway just a few pics to show more of the blower design.... I should post pics of the real deal with it too.
