I just received this yesterday in the mail. Very Nice Clean casting, I'll be taking my time on this build, I need to come up with a plan as to how i'll be building it, It will be Factory Stock . I will be making it as a mainstreamer though. Here are the photos of the mock up, Oh when I did get open up the box yesterday the caster included both of the roll pans for the rear. One for the Small Block,And the one for the Big Block. This is a very nice casting and would recommend it to anyone that wants to build an MPC 70 Barracuda Model. At a third of the cost of an original kit.mpc70cuda1.jpgmpc70cuda2.jpgmpc70cuda3.jpg

Nice, Steve, but WHO'S resin is it? Haven't heard of a 25th scale Cuda. Most kits are based on the Revellogram kit. Yes, they ARE EXPENSIVE IF you can find one! I paid OVER a hundred bucks for my mint kit! I also have a mint 71 , that cost JUST as much. A resin alternative would be GREAT!!!!:);)

Well it's made by Reliable Resin, I ordered it on the 10th of this month, And had it yesterday. Thats a great turn around time if you ask me!

That looks really clean. I'll be watching! Will you be using any of the parts I sent you on this one?

I know i'll be using the steering wheel for sure. And maybe the front suspension , I already have the Correct 70 Interior mocked up, It was made from , The Sox & Martin prostock interior, The rear seat was cut down from and extra resin 71 Duster interior bucket, And the front seats from the AMT 71 Duster kit, I researched the real car, And the Gran Coupe had the same patterns on the seats. I also cut the console out of a 74 Road Runner interior tub, I'll post photos of it soon, I also just noticed that the front bumper and grill unit has the clear headlights ,Not the 41 year old molded in ones that were in the original MPC kit, That is a really nice touch. :)

I have just a little update on this build, Last night I put the car in the weasleys bleach white, To get the mold release off, I was going to try and have it in primer by sunday, But It's snowing here again, That gives me more time to prep the car for it, Like I said, This will be a long project, I am looking for ideas on paint colors ,And engine options, I'm thinking a 318 Small Block. Any suggestions on colors would be considered to best suit the car. Thanks for looking , and thanks for the comments on it. ;) I would also like to thank Caine 440 For the Chassis, gpugh 1976 for the interior parts , And the Most important Don from Reliable Resin. With out all of you guys, I wouldn't be able to build one of my holy grails , So a BIG thank you to all three of you . ;)

Steve, very nice looking Resin. this care will likely turn out as nice as your others.I'll definatley be keeping an eye on this build the Gran Coupe is among my favourite Mopar E Bodies. 318 sounds good, 3SPD Torqueflite Column shift Auto or? Are you using Road wheels, Rallye Wheels Deluxe wheel covers or Wire wheel covers? For color L-1 Sandpebble Beige, or P-6 Frosted Teal Poly might compliment the shape of the car.

Yeah, do a color that you don't see very often!

Ok i'll look up those colors , And by request I will paint it an uncommon color.

I got some work done on the interior and got the donor chassis stripped, I hate Testors Flat Black Spray Paint, It took 2 days for that stuff to come off in the Scale Coat Stripper. Anyways the first 2 photos are of the car mocked up, And the extra parts Reliable Resn sent me along with the rest of the body kit, Both rear roll pans, And the rest of the other parts included, Just to show the quality, The next 3 are of the interior , And the base model dash cluster I still need to graft into the Jo-Han dash. The interior was made up of AMT 71 Duster seats, The rear seat was cut out and narrowed out of a resin MPC 71 Duster/Demon interior tub Made by Missing Link, I had an extra one to do so, I reserched the interior and the seat patterns are correct. The only mods I had to do to the Jo-Han interior was cut out the wheel arches in the back seat area, And the parts fit right in, The top of the seat was rounded off with a sanding stick, And thinned fron underneith so it would sit flush , The console is cut out of an extra 74 AMT Road Runner interior and sanded to fit the transmission tunnel. The Chassis has the mounting posts cut out a 74 Cuda snap body to level off the stance of the car.mpc70cuda8.jpgmpc70cuda7.jpgmpc70cuda6.jpgmpc70cuda5.jpgmpc70cuda4.jpg

Here is the photo of the real interior , The seat patterns are really close, So that is how I'm doing it.Besides it's not easy at all to kitbash a 70 Barracuda interior, So, I'll go with the one I have mocked up. Now if I could find the houndstooth decals for the seat inserts.70grancoupeinterior.jpg

Nick that Frosted Teal wasn't available on the A,B And E-Bodies. Only on the C-body cars. Here is the color chart for the Barracuda.

Sorry to hear this Steve. I hope all is ok.....or will be ok. Family stuff is always WAY before models. I think we all understand.

Hope all is going better, Steve, or will be in short order.

For color ideas- Sandpiper Beige is looking pretty good to me, perhaps with a tan interior, or Ivy Green with a tan or green interior.

A 318 car in lower trim will be a nice change from Hemi and big-block cars and loud 340-powered cars.
