walt francis Posted March 25, 2011 Posted March 25, 2011 I just stopped at the thrift store and found this poor thing and had to bring it home, even if it can give up some parts then it can live on and the decals are cut out and glued on so I can save them. The body is some what clean Well, i guess this is one way to get a highback bench seat Looks like a tail light How high can you stack your heads I think it's the other door panel
The Creative Explorer Posted March 25, 2011 Posted March 25, 2011 Priceless, Seriously, it must've been a kids first attempt to tackle a kit and kudo's for his brave attempt. But at the meanwhile it does give us, the bit more experienced builder a nice smile. The doorpanel on the back and rear-seat are just amazing
Bainford Posted March 25, 2011 Posted March 25, 2011 This guy needs to work on cleaning up the mold lines
highway Posted March 25, 2011 Posted March 25, 2011 This reminds me of one I found, at all places, one of my LHSs. I think the shop must have bought some kits at an estate sale and just stuck them on the shelf without looking through them, and I found a Monogram Lamborghini Countach in the original Exotics box with a $12 price tag on it, so I got it down and asked the manager if he minded if I looked through it, since it was open, and see if all the parts were there. This is what stared me back in the face! Needless to say, I pulled it out of the box and both me and the shop manager almost lost our lunches! He felt so embarassed that it made it on the shelf, he ended up telling me to just take it! Nothing beats free plastic, no matter how ulgy it may be!
mistermodel Posted March 25, 2011 Posted March 25, 2011 that engine reminds me of the old international 4 banger made from a 8.Half of a 454,a LS3.5 227 cid maybe
disabled modeler Posted March 25, 2011 Posted March 25, 2011 So thats how that one gos together???? Reminds me of my first few models I built.
highway Posted March 25, 2011 Posted March 25, 2011 That thing deserves the dignity of being sent to the next life by either BB gun, firecracker, or match head bomb. That's the fate that befell many a "creatively assembled" kit before it, seems only fitting. Which one, Mark, Walt's or my Lambo?
Nick Winter Posted March 26, 2011 Posted March 26, 2011 Which one, Mark, Walt's or my Lambo? Both Matt. I actually think that the builder must have know what they were doing, I never would of figured out the straight 8 in that configuration. Nick
stewart Posted March 26, 2011 Posted March 26, 2011 Those are both hilarious. Nice try with the air cleaner decal. STewart
Ben Posted March 26, 2011 Posted March 26, 2011 Lookin great so far! Your almost there! Just carefully put some Bare Metal Foil on it and your contest ready!
Modelmartin Posted March 26, 2011 Posted March 26, 2011 That is priceless! It may not have been a kid that tried building it, though. I know adults who could have done that. Obviously not model enthusiasts but someone who one day said, "I want to try that". I once got a Revell VW van built-up in a box of stuff and the front axle was upside down so that the shocks and their brackets touched the ground and the engine cooling air scoops faced down also!
Dragline Posted March 26, 2011 Posted March 26, 2011 Well one thing's for certain. The instruction sheet is untouched. Even when I first started build....... I'm not going there. Geez... Bob
MikeMc Posted March 26, 2011 Posted March 26, 2011 Looks good...what color are you going to use???
