'66 Volkswagen

Hi Guys, I just finished my first Tamiya kit!! O.k., it's been done for a couple months, but computer problems have prevented me from posting pictures. Using old pictures and my fading memory I tried to re-create my fathers first brand new car. I think I got it pretty close...........

Great looking V-dub! If you can recall what your Dad's license plate was, you could make a rear plate the same....or just call it "DAD". Great job!

When it comes to Volkswagon's there's no better kit out there than the Tamiya, I built mine also and everybody loved it :wink:

Randy, your '66 looks just like the model! amazing how quick you can build a real car to look like a model! i think this is going to catch on! just kidding randy.

VERY nice build. not a big fan of original VW's but for everything being stock, it looks REAL good.

That looks great. That is so far the only Tamiya kit I've finished too (I started a Porsche 959 that waits for me to get back to it) and it's such a fun kit to build.

Thank You All for the kind words!! I actually had something happen on this project I've never had before. When it was done, I was disappointed that it was finished!! If this is typical of Tamiya kits, I guess I need to buy more of them! I already have plans for at least a couple more of these bugs.........
