1320wayne Posted May 22, 2011 Posted May 22, 2011 Superb work throughout. The stance is perfect and the added detail is awesome. Keep it up.
bobthehobbyguy Posted May 22, 2011 Posted May 22, 2011 This is a neat project. I think your choice not to add flames is a good one. From what I can see the red metallic is a good choice as it it. bobthehobbyguy
doomcrew Posted May 25, 2011 Author Posted May 25, 2011 while waiting for the clear to cure, i did some work on the interior. the nitros bottle brackets were made from pewter and detailed with etched bolts. also made from pewter were the brake and accelerator pedals. the therest of the pedal assembly was made from the kits door hinge. the seat belt material is bandage with various etched hardware. the material will have to be tidied up as there are a number of stray fibres that i need to be rid of. i got a set of micro magnets today, and used with steel pins, these will be used to keep the doors and boot lid closed. steve
Romell R Posted May 26, 2011 Posted May 26, 2011 (edited) this is truely a job well done! oh by the way where can i get some of those magnets? Edited May 26, 2011 by Aftashox
doomcrew Posted May 26, 2011 Author Posted May 26, 2011 i'm pretty sure that e-magnets ship internationaly, failing that, google up micro magnets, thats how i found them. i fashioned a fuel cell from chemiwood with a small rod for the pipe which was drilled out. i will add a petrol cap later which will turned. i ran out of Alclad so used Baremetal to chrome the cell and added two strips of pewter. the paint is now polished and i'm more than happy with the results. steve
GTMust Posted May 26, 2011 Posted May 26, 2011 I would have been happy with the first base coat of shiny paint! But adding the metalflake and clear has brought it up to a whole new level. Great work throughout the build. Tony
Jantrix Posted May 26, 2011 Posted May 26, 2011 Marvelous work. Two questions. Exactly what bandage material are you using and where are you getting the pewter? Something that flexible, I can think of lots of uses for.
Randy D Posted May 28, 2011 Posted May 28, 2011 Hello Steve, As usual, IMPRESSIVE!!!! Love all the details, the nitrious bottle is killer. The paint came out great Randy
doomcrew Posted June 1, 2011 Author Posted June 1, 2011 (edited) the bandage is just fabric sticking plaster and the pewter was obtained from when i worked on Batman Begins. i'm sure you will find it in sheets on the internet. well its now complete. wheel nuts were added and the magnets were put in the boot lid, front end and doors along with steel pins. a Scale Repros Plus mirror was added and a British number plate (taken from a photo in Custom Car magazine) was fixed to the rear pan. there are more pics in the completed section, take a look. hope you all enjoyed this wip, thanks for looking in. steve Edited June 1, 2011 by doomcrew
