Jeff Johnston Posted March 31, 2007 Posted March 31, 2007 Well I bought a really descent Resin 68 Falcon at NNL east. I was absolutely thrilled....25 bucks too ! The guy said to use a 68 Mustang frame.. Well...the 68 Stang frame is not even close. Not nearly wide enough. So I tried a Fairlane. Too long. The Cougar does not fit either.... I'd have to severly modify a 66 or 69 chassis Galaxie to fit.... OK so by now I am completely itrritated...not because of the 25 bucks, but because I was so looking forward to building it. Any suggestions on what might fit ? I don;t knwo who the resin dealer is...when I asked for a card he told me to ask Dave Burket (Model King). Though I bought a 68 Galaxie too and the 66 Galaxie frame is perfect... Thanks for any suggestions you all might have.
falcon wagon Posted March 31, 2007 Posted March 31, 2007 Try the 69 Mod Falcon that the Model king has out the frame is the same just has the rear wheel wells cut off. Carl
MrObsessive Posted March 31, 2007 Posted March 31, 2007 Jeff, why not try the frame out of the Revell '65 Mustang kits? Although they are 1/24 scale that could make up for the width you'd need. You might need to adjust the wheelbase though because of the scale differences....................just a thought. Edit: I'm not sure if the Galaxie chassis would be correct for a Falcon if scale accuracy is what you're looking for. Galaxies were still body on frame for '68, while the Falcons and Mustangs were always unibody built.
Jeff Johnston Posted April 1, 2007 Author Posted April 1, 2007 Thanks Bill...I guess I never thought of the 65...I have one somewhere, and I'll give it a try. Terry...the 67 is too small as well
