fatkidd Posted April 11, 2011 Posted April 11, 2011 (edited) here's the latest to come out of the fatkidd graffix studio. its started out as an AMT snapfast plus kit. I removed the side moldings, shaved the door handles and tailgate handle, removed the roof lights, separated the headlights from the grill, opened the grill, filled and smoothed front bumper, scratch built a bed insert, machined a set of "backing plates" for the wheels and painted tose body color with no clear, lowered it and added wheels from a diecast. Paint is House of Kolor: Cortez Blue Pearl over white primer Orion Silver with Kandy Pink Limetime Pearl Tangelo Pearl it is a curbside and was done as a "quickie". Hope you enjoy and comments/critiques are always welcome. Edited April 13, 2011 by fatkidd
stewart Posted April 11, 2011 Posted April 11, 2011 Nice paint job. Very creative. I like those rear deep dish wheels. STewart
diymirage Posted April 11, 2011 Posted April 11, 2011 i like the paint and the idea of converting the rear to one single wiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiide rim but i dont like wagon wheels on anything not amish and im not a fan of rubber band tires (just my personal opinion) heres my take on the same kit (for comparison)
Modlbldr Posted April 12, 2011 Posted April 12, 2011 I like it. Great creative work. Sure makes it look like something different than a work truck. Cool. Later-
crazyjim Posted April 12, 2011 Posted April 12, 2011 It looks better live. Paul had it at the Gainesville show last weekend. He took it outside in the sun and that puppy really sparkles. Super paint, Fatkidd. Paul's painting abilities have earned him a spot on my hate list. Great work Fatkidd!
Clay Posted April 12, 2011 Posted April 12, 2011 That is interesting. Will have to try that later on.
fatkidd Posted April 13, 2011 Author Posted April 13, 2011 thanks for the comments folks. Diymirage - i appreciate the honest remark. I would normally agree with you about the rather large wheels, but they fit this application rather well. at least i think so. and its odd, i was thinking about putting a bike in the back of mine.
