While browsing ebay, I noticed this guy selling two italeri front tires and two of Revell's flotation wheels from the Bill signs truck for (pause for effect  ) 40 DOLLARS B) . I doubt if anyone would buy those for that much when you can get better-looking resin ones for about $12. KFS sells aluminum ones for $27. Just thought this was really funny.

Oh there's people fishing for suckers all the time on Ebay! My favorite one so far is the guy selling a flat sheet of resin for about 8.00! Hmmmmm, I could close my eyes and find sheet plastic for less! I wonder if I should buy it?!

I'd just like to have a little of whatever he's smoking, because it's some good stuff! I looked through some of his other items, and started laughing even harder when I seen this one!

I can go to my local Michael's right now (well, not right now, they're closed, but in the morning :D ) and by three of the reissues for a little over $20 a piece!

And I just read the description of the Pete a little closer, and all that is original from the 1982 issue he's claiming it to be is the box and instructions!!! The dummy even states it has reissue instructions and is molded in white instead of red!!!! :D:o:blink::lol::blink::lol:

oh man, that is comedy. or the guy that want rotting old decals for 20 bucks plus 5 bucks for shipping??

i also often feel as if the seller also has a second account on ebay or has a buddy thats on there to bid on their items when they are trying to get more than it's really worth. perfect example, i bid on an item, theres 2 days left. some one puts a bid in, ok. so i raise my bid by 5 bucks first, still not enough, so i kick it up another 10 bucks, still not enough, so for kicks i bump it 25 bucks more, enough? nope! now it's worth more than the buy it now" item further down..eh oh well guess he wants more than it's really worth. it's a freaking snap kit and theres several still around.

the snap kit is worth every penny he asks because, look at all the glue you will save money. just good economics in my opinion.

My mom collects Pez and used to collect Beanie Babies. I know she has caught people doing exactly what you described. I don't know how prevalent it is on Ebay as a whole but I know with many of the collector items on ebay it is prevalent. I think that is partially why ebay started hiding bidder info from other bidders. Ebay doesn't care if someone is artificially driving up prices because if the item sells for more Ebay makes more money.

If you want some really good laughs, look here http://toys.shop.ebay.com/Models-Kits-/1188/i.html?_catref=1&_fln=1&_ssn=pj-toys&_trksid=p3911.c0.m282 What's even more amazing is that he actually sells those parts!

If I had those parts they would be selling for less than 25% of what that guy wants. The sad part is that guy is probably one of those guys that if the item doesn't sell he just throws it away. Then it is lost forever and the people that just wanted a fair price on the item will never see it again.

There is a partially started Avanti on there that has been on there for awhile, the seller wants I think it was $80 for it.

Scary thing is, people are buying from him. Atleast there is feedback indicating so. His shipping charges are out of line too. I have seen clowns list items for a high buy it now price to get one they have in auction seem more valuable - this seller seems to just be charging a lot for no reason. I don't think I'll buy anything from him.

I know it isn't from ebay but their is a guy on my local craigslist trying to sell a partial kit 1/12th scale Monogram Camaro for $200. Guess he didn't check Ebay for comparison since you can get the kit NIB for less than half the price.

Let's not even get started on craigslist! Look, I have some garbage in my backyard - $20, you haul! Firm!

Thats why I only bid what Im willing to pay for something on Ebay regardless of what its worth. I found a new compressor and airbrush from a guy on there who had a reserve on both items, 2 days before the auction ended he changed his reserve price but it was still so high that no one else bid so I guess he kept it and is now using it to paint crying clowns on a shirt somewhere because it never sold. He also wouldnt budge one cent on shipping if I won both items, he claimed it was from the raising gas prices even though he only had to ship them 3 hours away ;) Gotta love Ebay!

So basically, he switched the box tops from the 18.00 reissue. Oh yeah, that's worth 59.00! I'll get my checkbook!

That's what it sounds like, and threw in 30 year old decals as a bonus!

How about this guy.

Race trailer only from the van and trailer combo. $60 http://cgi.ebay.com/Race-Car-Trailer-1-25th-scale-/270732693806?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item3f08ed112e

And moster truck tires for $25 http://cgi.ebay.com/Bigfoot-Monster-Truck-Tires-/270732697678?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item3f08ed204e

ebay is fun...er funny. I can get those trailers for $10-15 at any model show or geez even on EBAY.

You gotta wonder how they even sell some of this stuff. I mean do they really think it is worth that much. How do they not see that the next listing down, someone is selling the same thing for $5.00 or less. Also, with stuff like the monster truck tires, these people need to keep up with the times. I could get a whole kit with those in it for half that. No one is going to pay an arm and a leg for a part from a rare kit. They will only do that MAYBE if it is the whole kit. It is hilarious frankly. :DB)

Thanks guys, that's my account.

Which one?? I just checked all the ebay listings, and none have a ship from for central Arkansas. The one with the big truck stuff is from Louisiana, the trailer is Pennsyvania, and the other one that is a link to a store is in Florida. Unless you're driving to Louisiana to ship, but if you're in central Arkansas, I'd think Little Rock would be closer!:blink::huh::blink::unsure:

And by the way, I'm not trying to start anything with you, I'm just wondering!

Lol neither one, I did not figure anyone would look that close. But you never know if the actual person is lurking on this site either.
