cargostar Posted April 24, 2011 Posted April 24, 2011 After having my hands on an early test shot for a while, all I can say is its one sweet kit!!! Daycab coming soon, as a conversion cab.....
Mr. Can Am Garage Posted April 24, 2011 Author Posted April 24, 2011 (edited) The way it's going, there would be at least another week of sprue shots so I'm going to post one pic of each of the remaining sprues and provide a link so you can go see the details if you're interested. The part in the upper right is the roof of the interior. Decals. How's that for an instruction book? http://public.fotki.com/jkdezan/the_world_of_scale/cars__trucks/by_the_years/2010s/2010/international/lonestar/whats-in-the-box/ BTW guys, I'll start showing some in-progress pics. tomorrow. Janne Herajärvi Posted April 24, 2011 Posted April 24, 2011 WOW! Perhaps coolest instructions ive ever seen for model kit. Everything looks great, but where are licence plates and key?
Mr. Can Am Garage Posted April 26, 2011 Author Posted April 26, 2011 These pics were taken on Sunday and ZERO progress was made yesterday. Some progress was made today but nothing significantly different than what you see here. The chrome fairing was press fit into place just for the pic.. Today's progress has seen all the wheel/tire combos glued on and the driver's side fuel tank is also on. I'm still debating a colour scheme for the interior and the engine was painted today. A paint scheme for the truck has been chosen and based on the sniff test, the first coat of colour should be on either tomorrow or the day after. http://public.fotki.com/jkdezan/the_world_of_scale/cars__trucks/by_the_years/2010s/2010/international/lonestar/cn-contractor/
Mr. Can Am Garage Posted April 28, 2011 Author Posted April 28, 2011 I've been very busy with works guys and the primer was fully dry today so the first of the three colours is now on the 'Star. That's a little bit of Kenworth white from Scale Finishes on an International. I won't tell if you wont.
Danno Posted April 29, 2011 Posted April 29, 2011 Good stuff, John. But, hey! What's the deal with your avatar? All I see is an empty box with a little red X in the upper left corner. Is it just me, or is it you? Jus wonderin' ...

Danno Posted April 29, 2011 Posted April 29, 2011 Not just you Dan, that's all I have too. Thanks for the word, Matt. I was afraid I had forgotten to pay 100% of my internet bill.

I know I didn't do anything to it but that's all I know. Maybe it's time to look into it. It appears that was an easy fix. Maybe even too easy. Edited April 29, 2011 by Mr. Can Am Garage
Mr. Can Am Garage Posted April 30, 2011 Author Posted April 30, 2011 Even though no one has asked to see the MaxxForce engine, I thought I'd show it to you even though I'm still working on the paint details. In this pic., it's sitting a little high and forward of it's final position but you get the idea.
Danno Posted April 30, 2011 Posted April 30, 2011 Ahhh. Your avatar is back. Don't look now, but your thing is glowing.
Danno Posted April 30, 2011 Posted April 30, 2011 You mean to say yours doesn't? Yikes! Walked right into that one. I'll have to check.

cargostar Posted May 1, 2011 Posted May 1, 2011 For the red/orange that CN uses, try looking for True Line Trains CN Red. Its right on for color, acrylic, and most have sprayed it right out of the bottle, without thinning!
Chuck Most Posted May 1, 2011 Posted May 1, 2011 Lonestar CXT Pickup.... Lonestar Harley Davidson Edition... Lonestar Mad-Max Apocalyptic Rig... Lonestar Enclosed Toy Hauler/Camper... Lonestar Fire Engine... Lonestar Rollback... Looks like I'd better stock up...
