John Verkerk Posted April 20, 2011 Posted April 20, 2011 (edited) Sorry only have the one picture. Edited April 20, 2011 by Kitbashkid
Guest Posted April 20, 2011 Posted April 20, 2011 Looks good from what I can see,but the photo is so tiny,at least to my old eyes. Would like to see more and bigger photos of it.
Modlbldr Posted April 20, 2011 Posted April 20, 2011 Yeah, only one photo and it's TINY! Great looking build from what I can see. I like the color and 67's are my favorite year of Vettes. Let's see some more of it. Later-
Pete L. Posted April 21, 2011 Posted April 21, 2011 Super nice work...love the drag racing Corvettes !
Reliable Resin Posted April 21, 2011 Posted April 21, 2011 NICE !! , what front springs did you use to jack her up ?
Duntov Posted April 24, 2011 Posted April 24, 2011 Nice 65 Corvette..... well executed.... Regards Bill (Duntov)
W-409 Posted April 25, 2011 Posted April 25, 2011 This one is looking real good. Like Gassers, and this body is one of my favorites. Paintjob looks good, so does the color. I like the stance and wheels with those tires are great too. I'd love to see this one live... Nice job with it.
Terry Sumner Posted April 25, 2011 Posted April 25, 2011 (edited) Good eyes! Can't believe I missed that! It's definitely not a 67. Could be a 65 or 66. Hard to tell them apart until you look at the front grill. A 1965 Corvette has a grill composed solely of horizontal bars. A 1966 Corvette has a grill composed of both horizontal and vertical bars, a 'waffle' pattern. And since we can't see the grill, we really can't tell whether this one is a 65 or 66. Terry, '66's wouldn't have the roof pillar vents which the '65 had. GM was trying to clean up the Sting Ray's styling a bit more at this point, so '65 was the last year for those. IIRC, they were the only year those were functional as the '63's and '64's were just indentations in the fiberglass. I can see the roof vents on the model he's shown so it's definitely a '65.

John Verkerk Posted May 6, 2011 Author Posted May 6, 2011 i'm such a boob!!!!Good eye guys!!! sorry about the confusion !!!
MrObsessive Posted May 6, 2011 Posted May 6, 2011 Yup Bill...yer absolutely right! I hate getting older...I miss little details like that sometimes! LOL Actually Terry, I have to stand corrected as far as the roof vents--------'64's DID have those vents........What they didn't have (yet) were the functional fender vents that started with the '65. I should have known as I can remember seeing these when I was a kid (does that make me old too? ), also I have a Corvette book right in the house which details every single nut and bolt from '53 to '82.
