Jon Cole Posted April 21, 2011 Posted April 21, 2011 Looks good! Like the wide tires and plenty of rally lights.
Kombi Posted April 22, 2011 Posted April 22, 2011 Very cool looking! The wheels look like a cross between 10" Minilites and a 14" wheel rim. Whatever it is, it works.
Erik Smith Posted April 22, 2011 Posted April 22, 2011 Cool. I love minis. Tamiya kit? Any engine photos? The wheels came out nice - looks like the kit minilites converted to a larger diameter - nice idea!
nts Posted April 22, 2011 Author Posted April 22, 2011 (edited) Some more pictures,The wheels is aftermarket, fleamarket find, all chrome , i took the orginal minilite rims, cut off everything but the center part. Paint and then glue it in the chrome rim. To fit in the new wheels i had to wide the body. Here are some photos of the work. Cut a strip along one body . This is what left of body 1 Now cut body 2 in two pieces and glu on the strip between the two bodyparts. Paint and enginedetails. And yes it´s a Tamiya kit. Torgny Edited April 22, 2011 by nts

LAone Posted April 22, 2011 Posted April 22, 2011 that is probably the coolest mini around. widening the mini is something i wouldnt have thought about. excellent idea.
Erik Smith Posted April 22, 2011 Posted April 22, 2011 That's interesting - I didn't realize it was widened in the original photos. I can see it now. Cool. Thanks for the additional pictures.
DiscoSpud Posted April 23, 2011 Posted April 23, 2011 Mate very well done! I had no idea that you had widenned it until you showwed us the progress pics! I'm going to have to get a mini kit now I'm in the process of building a custom mini moke atm
RodneyBad Posted April 23, 2011 Posted April 23, 2011 I would've never believed it was widened with out photographic proof Excellent work on that. Coolest lil Mini I've ever seen. Paint and wheels look great A mini for the plus size person Awesome work!!!! Luv it..
Janne Herajärvi Posted April 23, 2011 Posted April 23, 2011 Very cool Mini! That body widening was suprice, becouse from first pics you cant see it.
Foxer Posted April 23, 2011 Posted April 23, 2011 That's tackling the tire issue from the inside out. This has ended up looking spectacular!
