JTRACING Posted April 29, 2011 Posted April 29, 2011 picked this kit up cause it's a good price. I'm surprised how nice it is with some excellent details. engine painted up, I like to make them look used a bit, so I added some paint chipping and general dust on it. I'll add final weathering when its in the car
oldscool Posted April 30, 2011 Posted April 30, 2011 That is a great looking engine except for the overinflated alternator. But that's not your fault. The Revell alternators look much better. gus
stewart Posted April 30, 2011 Posted April 30, 2011 Wow. Very realistic weathering. I like the engine. STewart
ChrisPflug Posted April 30, 2011 Posted April 30, 2011 Nice engine but the distributor looks a bit "off"- seems to stick straight up like a Ford
JTRACING Posted April 30, 2011 Author Posted April 30, 2011 printed out a license plate, I just stuck scotch tape over the paper to make it glossy. Nice engine but the distributor looks a bit "off"- seems to stick straight up like a Ford it is tilted to the right, but if I tilt it more it hits the alternator and valve cover.
Keef Posted May 1, 2011 Posted May 1, 2011 looking awesome so far, this is my most Favorite of all of Ma Mopars children LOL loving the weathering on the engine, cant wait to see this one done
Monte's Motors Posted May 1, 2011 Posted May 1, 2011 Great looking engine !! I want to see how you do the mis-matched dash and interior tub that the kit has. I can't believe such a mistake in molding was made. Square peg, round hole thing going on. I'm sure mine will have to be corrected.
kenlwest Posted May 2, 2011 Posted May 2, 2011 I cant believe how real that engine looks! Nice Job! Ken

Dr. Cranky Posted May 2, 2011 Posted May 2, 2011 Man, that engine and the engine bay are making EYEGORE salivate. I love it. Great restraint on the weathering and it's paying off. This one is going to be a beauty. Keep it going, please.
JTRACING Posted May 2, 2011 Author Posted May 2, 2011 just working on painting the goodyear logos on the tires. also finished the rear bumper
Monte's Motors Posted May 2, 2011 Posted May 2, 2011 the dash in this one fits perfect. I'm very happy that yours matches. Now that I've seen yours, I'll cut mine the same shape. Thanks for the great pictures.

The new issue of these kits come with two dashes- the one that fits is a copy of an old MPC piece (and is the "Charger" style with round gauges as correct for the '70 Super Bee)- the Road Runner/GTX dash Is included on one of the sprues as well I've also got a couple of the older AMT release but didn't check if they have both dashes On the 1:1 70 the Bee came standard with the round gauge dash while the R/T had the long rectangular speedometer style

Darren B Posted May 4, 2011 Posted May 4, 2011 WOW. that weathering on the engine is out of this world...
Modlbldr Posted May 5, 2011 Posted May 5, 2011 Nice job on the details so far. I really like the green color too. To answer the question (if it was asked)-The old Pro Street version of this kit had two dashes also. Later-
Modlbldr Posted May 5, 2011 Posted May 5, 2011 I'll say it again, I like that color. You did a fantastic job spraying that. Keep it up. Later-
futurattraction Posted May 5, 2011 Posted May 5, 2011 It's looking great. I also like the color you painted the body and your weather techniques are out of this world. This one will be fun to keep looking in on.
diymirage Posted May 5, 2011 Posted May 5, 2011 that is a very interesting clolour choice for that model i wouldnt expect it on there but it looks very nice i dont think this would look good on ralleys though, going with aftermarket rollers ?
