DRG Posted May 1, 2011 Posted May 1, 2011 I'm not one that loves the hot weather of summer. There's grass to cut, flowers to plant and so forth. But I am sick of this cold, rainy weather. Sitting on a river bank fishing, going on picnic's and such really sound good right now. But no, we have cold temperatures and rain. It's so cold and damp I can't even paint any of my models as the paint would freeze dry. May,1, is the day our furnace gets shut off. Wife's rule not mine, trust me.
Dr. Cranky Posted May 1, 2011 Posted May 1, 2011 Don, you know what Doctor Cranky would say, right? MOVE TO FLORIDA!!! Come on down, we'll get EYEGORE to hunt down the perfect location for ya!
Patrick2005 Posted May 1, 2011 Posted May 1, 2011 I'm sick of the weather here in PA too, Florida is sounding better and better every day!
crazyjim Posted May 1, 2011 Posted May 1, 2011 I don't want to make you guys who still live up north bad, but the sun is out and it's about 83 degrees here in west central FLA. Sure beats the weather I left in Chicago. So what are you waiting for? Come on down. The pool heater shuts off when the temp gets to 90, and the heater kicked off a little while ago. Now - should I stay on the computer, or hit the water? You guessed right - POOL TIME.
Chuck Most Posted May 1, 2011 Posted May 1, 2011 Nice and warm up here in cetral Michigan today, but a bit too breezy for my tastes. Yeah... always something to complain about! That's me.
charlie8575 Posted May 1, 2011 Posted May 1, 2011 Florida's way too humid for my tastes. I'd consider Arizona, Nevada, Texas or New Mexico, and back home for the REALLY hot weather. New England is experiencing a nice, if a bit slow, warm-up. Right now, it's running around 60, has been for most of the last week, and will be most of the upcoming week. Charlie Larkin
Harry P. Posted May 1, 2011 Posted May 1, 2011 Well, it's been a cold and very rainy April here in the Chicago area (what else is new, right?)... but when I see the weather they've been having in Alabama, Georgia, parts of Tennessee and Kentucky, etc... suddenly cold and rainy doesn't seem so bad after all. And now I see they're going to blow up a levee on the Mississippi to relieve the rising Mississippi and Ohio rivers and try to save the town of Cairo, IL from being submerged. Of course, busting the levee means some farmland downstream in Missouri will probably get flooded, so those people are not happy. Can't please everyone...
prostreeter69 Posted May 1, 2011 Posted May 1, 2011 Water, water and more water. Between the tornados, hale and flooding no time for modeling, and after last night the current project is ripping up my hardwood flooring in the living room. Florida is sounding pretty good right now (any room Cranky????) Jon
Rob Hall Posted May 1, 2011 Posted May 1, 2011 It's getting to the time of the year I hate the weather in AZ...May through Sept can have many triple digit days. But at least I have a pool, cold A/C, cold beer. I've lived in the Midwest (E/NE Ohio, SE Michigan, Chicago), Colorado (Colorado Springs, Denver) and S. Florida (the Keys) in the past, each area has it's own ups and downs as far as weather...
Craig Irwin Posted May 2, 2011 Posted May 2, 2011 Cold and rainy here, I listened to the forcast on the radio earlier, a low in the thirties Tuesday morning. I'm with Jon, how many rooms you got Cranky?
Agent G Posted May 2, 2011 Posted May 2, 2011 78, clear, dry and quite windy here in Sin City. No bugs, little rain, no sleet and long icy winters. It has snowed, but it melts quite quickly. I moved from St Louis as I was very tired of extreme humidity in the summers and the manic wet icy winters that seemed to hang on and on. Oh, and tornadoes. Three incidents of tornadoes in St Louis so far in '11. Floods too. I'm a desert guy since living in Yuma back in the 70's. G
SuperStockAndy Posted May 2, 2011 Posted May 2, 2011 It was about 70 degrees all day, but it felt like 60 with the wind
