Janne Herajärvi Posted May 6, 2011 Posted May 6, 2011 New project even i havent finished anything yet for this year. Paint job done so far. Im not sure do i clear it or not. Panel lines in trunk are missing now, becouse i didnt scribe them before painting. Well next time i do Paint is from Maston rattle can.
crazyjim Posted May 6, 2011 Posted May 6, 2011 Nice color Hertsi. Can't wait to see more of this build.
Janne Herajärvi Posted May 6, 2011 Author Posted May 6, 2011 Thank you. I build this box stock exept wiring.
Janne Herajärvi Posted May 7, 2011 Author Posted May 7, 2011 Here`s some various painted but not detailed parts. All these colors are from Humbrol or Revell Comments are welcome.
Janne Herajärvi Posted May 8, 2011 Author Posted May 8, 2011 More little progress... Dont you hate when that happens? Well atleast my oilpan shines like a glass
Ron a.k.a. Grouchy Pants Posted May 8, 2011 Posted May 8, 2011 Well atleast my oilpan shines like a glass
Terry Sumner Posted May 9, 2011 Posted May 9, 2011 What ARE those 2 shadows on the hood? Photo of the underside???
diymirage Posted May 9, 2011 Posted May 9, 2011 What ARE those 2 shadows on the hood? Photo of the underside??? it looks like they are score lines for when you want to install functional hoodscoops the hood is quite a bit thinner there (so you can cut it easy) and sometimes the paint will "burn" through those sections even when it doesnt affect the rest of the model check out this build right here http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=42010&st=0 it had the same issue and there was a lot o discussion going on about how to fix/prevent it
Janne Herajärvi Posted May 9, 2011 Author Posted May 9, 2011 Terry: Thats what Eelco said. Here is blurry pic of it.
W-409 Posted May 14, 2011 Posted May 14, 2011 Looking great! What are you going to do for the hood? Some putty? I have the same kit WIP (as you know ) and maybe I'll have the same problem... It would be easier to fix now before painting. The body looks good, color is nice and BMF work looks great. Engine is good looking too, I like the valve covers on this one. Great job so far, I'll keep watching this one.
Janne Herajärvi Posted May 14, 2011 Author Posted May 14, 2011 Thank you Niko. Arent you building Black Widow version? or do you have this one too? Im not going to fix that hood, becouse i want keep this easy and simple build. I have 3 more differend 57 Chevys in my stach so this is just warm up build I have interior finished now. Ill post pics vey soon, camera batterys u know
W-409 Posted May 15, 2011 Posted May 15, 2011 It's the Black Widow version, which has the same mistake on the hood. I'm trying to get that model as nice as possible (with my skills) so I must do something for that. And that interior looks very good, like the colors on it.
Janne Herajärvi Posted May 15, 2011 Author Posted May 15, 2011 Niko, if you want best results for your build... Scribe all panel lines, its important on this model since they are not good they will dissapear under your paint job. Go figure my build. Paint job is not even thick and still i made panel lines of trunk dissapear. So be careful and good luck.
imatt88 Posted May 15, 2011 Posted May 15, 2011 Hertsi, Very nice. I like the interior, it came out looking good and the colors really work.. Where did you get the paint stand? very cool Cheers, Ian
Janne Herajärvi Posted May 15, 2011 Author Posted May 15, 2011 Thank you Ian. i did buy paint stand from online shop called Hiroboy, but you may find them all over the net. Just search Tamiya Paint stand. Sorry for poor guality phone pic, but here is first look about wheels im using on this one. They did come in this kit and they are one of best Revell custom wheels IMO. Stance is not that low when i finish chassis, but low enough. Now there is not chassis at all so thats why its so low now...
Janne Herajärvi Posted May 21, 2011 Author Posted May 21, 2011 Has anyone else had problems with custom front axle? Now its full of chipped paint, glue smudges and my dna, but its finally on its place and now i figured that tires wont fit inside of body so i have more some problems here. DOH
Sixties Sam Posted May 24, 2011 Posted May 24, 2011 Looks good, Janne! I really like the interior colors. 57's are cool! Sam
Janne Herajärvi Posted May 24, 2011 Author Posted May 24, 2011 Thank you Sam. I used Humbrol paints for interior.
Janne Herajärvi Posted May 25, 2011 Author Posted May 25, 2011 Next update goes to underglass, maybe tomorrow
