Decieded to save my 5,000 post for this build, seemed befitting, BEYOND EXCELLENT WORK! Down Right Amazing.

Nick

Shootin for it!, but im bringing it done or not.

Just be aware, we do not have a "Display Only" section, only room for the finished model competition classes. Does that provide a little more initiative?

Rom, the car is looking just great! When you get tired of looking at it (soon I hope!:D ), I think you can just send it to me, it needs to be with a Mopar fan right?. Also I'll tell you here, that article on Mr. Ryder's '65 Chevelle (with all the working parts) is in the October 2000 issue of MCM

That motor just didnt look right to me sticking out like that so I wanted to give you guys an Idea of how I went about fixing that. I hope you enjoy...

I started with some sheet styrene

a little putty applied

I think that pretty much take care of that problem , I'll finish the putty work then it off to primer for the body.

I hope you enjoyed.... B)

Yikes!

You're still gonna have to drill a hole in the roof for a periscope!

Either that, or set it up as a 1:1 R/C car and have a controller/operator running alongside.

No way a human could see over, around, or through that "hood." Not even if he's sitting on a beanbag seat!

you only need to be able to see a straight line in front of you. ask this guy. and my front clip is just sitting up there thanks for your concern Danno ol boy B)

In my opinion Your hood is still too High Rommell,. I guess it depends on whether your after accuracy or wow factor. Take about half the hood bulge out and you'll have it where it needs to be. Again just my opinion..

As you say Rom, the car only has to go straight (till it gets to the return road). As for seeing the tree, just set up a mirror in the cockpit area, I don't remember who it was but a Pro-Stock driver set up a mirror so he could see the tree over the hood scoop when in the right lane.

I have to agree with the others, your hood is to high. But on the other end of the stick taking the bulge out, is not going to get the blower to sit where it looks right based on reference photos. I am sure this is ROM's dilemma. I would think you are going for scale and accuracy with all the detail you have in your car with that engine and chassis. Dont MUK it up with the hood now, press forward and fix the real cause. Without looking at it closer, to me it looks like you need to take consideration more around how your block mounts to the chassis. The motor is sitting up way to high and needs to be dropped. I saw another of your posts and it looks like you are using a Flashpoint resin HEMI Promod motor. Did you add anything of significance that is raising the roots blower up even higher than stock?

ROM from the oil pan to the ground how many scale Inches is it from hitting the ground? The oil pan in ADRL can be less than the 3" requirement for the main chassis. The other thing I see, I know you have spent a lot of time on the motor, and it may correct itself once the block is lowered. But your Hood is cut way to wide, I have a feeling this is due to all the details making the blower opening in the hood to wide. Check to make sure your hoses and such are tucked in as close to the blower as possible. The drivers side hood opening should be close to the blower with just enough room for the tie down strap. Then the passengers side would be close to the blower with the exception of the MDS 44 Pro Mag cut out next to the blower belt.

I was looking at some more pic, maybe with all that weight your chassis is sagging some now, and falling past the 3-3.5" scale ride height it should be sitting at. Your headers look really close to that top bar on the chassis in the pics. Can't really tell, if this is the case your block is sitting up to high.
