Whether it looks accurate or not, I say it looks darn impressive! I really like your extra details on the trunk lid. Did you do anything special to the hinge mec. to get it stay open? Or was it just the hinge point you used that balanced it out?

Either way very cool that you were able to get it to stay open without the added prop sometimes needed.

That engine looks great with the details Wayne. Nice work! If it was me I wouldnt really care what others thought if the system wasnt plummed 100% correct. I think the detail looks awesome iys clean and looks great, thats all that matters. Keep up the great work.

I'm not sure what you normally use for clear and what's compatible with your paint so it's hard to make suggestions. Also, with only less than two weeks now before Atlanta whatever you choose to go with will make a huge difference as to whether it's cured and ready to be polished out.

I've been starting to experiment with two part urethane but before that I've been primarily using Dupli-color acrylic lacquer and acrylic enamel clears. The Dupli-color takes about 30 days to "gas out" before you can rub it out successfully. Darryl swears by Testors Ultra Clear and has good results from it and it will set up in a few days. And, a new product that I just stumbled upon is an aerosol clear found at Michael's. It's called Decoart Triple Thick Glaze and my experiments so far has proven pretty impressive. If you choose that route I would suggest trial on a spare body before sacrificing a good paint job.

The way that I did the hinges they came out tight enough to hold the trunk in place without the need for a prop.

I decided that I wasn't happy with doing this one half-a$$ so I pulled the carbs. off and started over with different carbs. and more accurate detail. The radiator is painted and installed along with the electric fans. I also added parts of the oil system. At this point, what you see is merely a mockup. I can't install the engine permanently until the body is complete and installed for good. The body won't fit over the finished engine, it has to go in after the body is attached.

I also did more in the trunk. I added the fuel line and twin resin cast Optima batteries. Now all that is left there is the battery cables.

Looks great Wayne, I like the improvements with the carbs, it looked good the other way also though, the trunk area looks good, nice touch on the fuel straps...

Well, the final updates to this one.

The dash is done and installed. I scratchbuilt an onboard digital computer for the dash as well as added parts box pedals with photo-etched tops for the pedals. And, the batteries are wired and the final details for the engine are complete.

And then, low and behold, this one is complete. I'm not 100% pleased with the final outcome as I did rush the final steps on this one just a bit so I could have it complete to bring with me to Atlanta. However, I learned a lot about this kit and it's little difficulties with the final fit so the outcome of the next one will be just a bit different.

Thanks for looking.

It looked good on the table yesterday in Atlanta and it looks great in pics also. I know you definitely have projects coming up with the 8 sets of Slixx decals you bought yesterday...LOL! Good stuff!
