I have had a Willy's sitting on my workbench for a little over a month now and have done nothing with it.

I have wanted to order some things from JimnOhio for quite some time and actually sat here and thought about, " am I going to build anymore models"

I'm stuck in a rut, here.

No Donald, you're not in a rut, it probably happens to everyone here, sometimes you just need a break. I know for sure it happens here, I haven't been at my bench for over a month either, I just haven't felt like it. I'd say go ahead and get what you're looking at from Jiminohio too, you never know but there just might be one that screams "WORK ON ME!!" when you look through the box and next thing you know you'll be back at the bench. That's worked for me in the past, well at least until the modeler's A.D.D. kicks in and I lose interest in that kit! :(:(

My wife convinced me to go ahead and buy the eight models I wanted. I picked them up today.

Ya gotta love a wife like that.

Yep, they are nice to come by!! My fiancee is the same way even though I hear from her quite often that she feels like we live in a hobby shop because my "model room" is actually half of our large living room. There's been a few times I'd have a $300 bill in the hobby shop, but as long as she got something green and yellow for her John Deere collection, she was happy! :(

Happens to me all the time, but eventually something always gets me going again. Nothing wrong with just taking a break until it is fun again. I find changing up subjects now and then can really help.

All Eight(8) models at Once??

I'd love your wife too :(

She got a sister?? :(

I have to sneak them in One at a time unless she's not home yet ;):(

Otherwise, I'd agree with Highway

I build in spurts! I will get rolling on one then hit some small snag and then it will sit for a week or two! Then for some reason, whether it is something I see here or on another site or just the right mood hits I will fly into it and finish it. Then I feel on a roll and start another only to for some unknown reason just hit a mood that I don't feel like working on it and again it will sit on the bench for a while until it starts all over again!:D

It's not a rut, but I've eased off building too ... just a short vacation! :D I'll start up soon I think, but enjoying the down time also. I had a rush to build for a show and that got to be more of a job, so it was vacation time after the show. :D

Nothing like starting a new project to get fired up again. Must be why we have so many going at any given time...

Yeah I agree I wouldn't say it's a rut, but more of a roadblock. I get those all the time, even on boring days where I'm at my computer just wanting to work on my model, but of course I can't bring myself to do it. Then there's days where all you want to do is sit at the workbench and build. Happens to the best of us ;)

Take your time and don't rush back into bulding. We all "Hit the wall" now and then and need to take a rest.

Myself, I haven't touched a piece of styrene in over a year. That's not too unusual for me though. I've not quit, but rather I'm working with some other projects of interest. I'll get back to the bench in due time... It's not going to leave me.

The nice thing about this hobby is that no matter how long you're away from the bench, you'll never lose the skills you've built up. I'm only 16, building my first model in about a year, and I've learned so much already from this site and experimenting that I'll carry with me.

When ever I get stuck in a rut I do something crazy to get me all fired up again.

Like turning a 39 Chev coupe into a chopped ratrod / shortbed truck / dually.

It was very different for me and incredibly challenging but a great experience, sometimes you just need to give it time to fester into a grander idea.
