Jon Cole Posted June 9, 2011 Posted June 9, 2011 (edited) Is there a way to make "View new content" the default? Edited June 9, 2011 by Jon Cole
Janne Herajärvi Posted June 9, 2011 Posted June 9, 2011 Ok thanks. I guess its easyest to try build your builds in one year so you can find them easily
Kit Basher Posted June 9, 2011 Posted June 9, 2011 Now... people who 'quote' pics... When I quote I highlight and erase the parts I don't want to quote. Is that the right way to do it or can you "select" what you want to keep in some way?
Harry P. Posted June 9, 2011 Author Posted June 9, 2011 When I quote I highlight and erase the parts I don't want to quote. Is that the right way to do it or can you "select" what you want to keep in some way? You're doing it right. You hilight and delete the stuff that you don't want to appear in your quote.
Chuck Most Posted June 9, 2011 Posted June 9, 2011 When I quote I highlight and erase the parts I don't want to quote. Is that the right way to do it or can you "select" what you want to keep in some way? That is perfectly acceptable, at least as far as I am concerned. I'm talking about when somebody quotes all five or six photos. Somebody mentioned people quoting all the pics and not saying anything at all... yeah, what's up with THAT????
diymirage Posted June 9, 2011 Posted June 9, 2011 Yes, there is, but this method will only show the last year's topics, anything past that it will not show. Go to "My Profile", and once you are at your profile page, click "Find My Content" underneath your profile picture. Once you do that, a page will come up with all topics that you have posted in or started. Above the first topic, you should see a box on the right hand side that has "View all topics (your name here) has posted in or started" with an arrow beside it. Click on the arrow and it opens a drop down menu and the second choice is "View all topics (your name here) has started". Highlight that and click the "Update" button next to the box. That will give you each topic you started between now and June 08, 2010. actually guys, there is a much simpler way to go, you just open the section you want (under glass, workbench, you name it) and scroll all the way down there is a narrow bar that runs almost all the way (horizontally) across the screen, just about the scroll window for the section and the "start a new topic" line in the middle of the bar there is a button that says "click here to view filter options" click on that and then go to the first scroll bar...it has the following options topics:all topics:open topics:hot topics:polls topics:locked topics:moved topics:i started topics: i replied click on the "topics i started filter and then hit go to give you an idea, i did this with mine and this is the earliest post i found post from 8-12-08 only 4 days after i singed on here, probably my firs post here
Jordan White Posted June 9, 2011 Posted June 9, 2011 (edited) Is there a way to make "View new content" the default? Make the New Content page a bookmark in your browser? Harry: what about doing, say, a build up in the trucks section, and posting the finished pics in the same thread, then posting another post of just the completed pics in the Under Glass? Harry P. Posted June 9, 2011 Author Posted June 9, 2011 Make the New Content page a bookmark in your browser? Harry: what about doing, say, a build up in the trucks section, and posting the finished pics in the same thread, then posting another post of just the completed pics in the Under Glass? I don't have a problem with posting a WIP, and then adding a new post of the finished product "Under Glass." In fact, what I like to see is, when the WIP is finished, the poster adds a comment like "see the finished model in the Under Glass section" or something similar. What I don't want to see is the same WIP posted in several different areas at the same time. It's redundant and unnecessary.
Janne Herajärvi Posted June 9, 2011 Posted June 9, 2011 actually guys, there is a much simpler way Hey, thanks that was great. I think i did find all my workbench topics with that.
highway Posted June 9, 2011 Posted June 9, 2011 actually guys, there is a much simpler way to go, you just open the section you want (under glass, workbench, you name it) and scroll all the way down Wow, that is simpler, I did not know about doing it that way. Thanks Eelco!
Janne Herajärvi Posted June 9, 2011 Posted June 9, 2011 Now... people who 'quote' pics... Something wrong about watching same pics 4 times in same topic? Someone could do tutorial about quoting right way
