That's really cool. Wonder what made them do it in 1:24. Perhaps they already has some Rover tooling and modifying it was cheaper than making a 1:35th tooling. Or maybe we will start to see more military vehicles come out in 1:24.

Like I wrote it's a re-pop of an old ('80s) Esci kit, IIRC it's the only 1/24 scale military kit they have done.

Italeri themselves, did a WWII Jeep (stock a fire vehicle) & Opel Blitz (stakebed & firetruck), but none were merchandised as military vehicles, Hasegawa did with a WWII Jeep and Kubelwagen.

Too bad Hasegawa never did a GMC Jimmy, that is what would've brought in the bacon...though if you want one in 1/24 scale, one can buy a resin kit.

I too have this kit but it is missing the gun. Maybe Italeri can fix me up with a replacement! Also one could take the recoiless rifle from the MPC Jeep and mount it for an interesting technical!!

if anyone is into military vehicles,look on this website www.kitformservices.com

he mostly caters for truck modellers,but there is always something useful for cars,pic-ups,vans ect.

as much as i dislike toyotas that gun belongs on one

you cant turn on the TV without seeing some rebels somewhere in the world trying to overthrow the government and they always have about 8 or 9 of them guys in a toyota pickup
