Plus, i LIKE the Mary Janes in the tray, some of my favorite candies! the first one was a flashlight 2 of them were made from non working flashlights, i made a soldering iron by heating a sharpened hanger with a alcohol burner and redoing everything to run on 9 volts. the last version was the easiest but not the brightest but still better than candles you can buy a pack of 3 for 20 bucks at walgreens.
High octane Posted July 12, 2011 Posted July 12, 2011 That was quite a brutal storm that came by here yeaterday morning and it had affected lots of people. I was one of the "lucky ones" and only lost power for a couple of minutes.
Harry P. Posted July 12, 2011 Posted July 12, 2011 ComEd said over 800,000 people lost power in the storm, the biggest power outage here ever! About half a million still don't have it back yet.

plasticbutcher Posted July 12, 2011 Posted July 12, 2011 That works great, I used a "mini mag" on mine for the 4th of July so the "kids" could see to light the fire works,
Joe Handley Posted July 12, 2011 Posted July 12, 2011 (edited) That's pretty clever there Silken! That was quite a brutal storm that came by here yeaterday morning and it had affected lots of people. I was one of the "lucky ones" and only lost power for a couple of minutes. Even luckier here Nick, We didn't loose power at home or work That was one nasty storm though, not as bad as the one a few weeks ago, but still bad! Edited July 12, 2011 by Joe Handley
mikemodeler Posted July 12, 2011 Posted July 12, 2011 I have family and friends back in NE Illinois and they expect to be without power for 48 hours, for the second time in less than 2 weeks. They are looking at throwing out spoiled food if the power doesn't come back on soon. And they worry about me living in the South and hurricanes! Ha, they have lost power more times in the last 30 days due to storms than I have in 6 years! Luckily no one in my family or friends have been hurt by these storms and I hope it stays that way.
