wgflatliner Posted July 16, 2011 Posted July 16, 2011 (edited) Hey guys/gals. Long time no post. However, i am going to try and redeem myself with a project that i've worked on intermittently. I'm almost done, and only need to do the clear coat and polished, then exterior trim and some other minor stuff. This build has been great so far. Oh, and i need to dust it off as you'll see with the engine pic. for the wood planks, i used balsa wood strips, painted enamel wood, and then topped off with brushed tamiya clear orange. for the strips between the wood planks, i used T shaped styrene strips. wgflatliner Posted July 16, 2011 Author Posted July 16, 2011 and here's the paint. tamiya TS-60 pearl green top, TS-58 pearl light blue bottom, and TS-45 pearl white pin stripe. the theme i'm going with is among the types of cars you'd see at a Good Guys car show, sort of a hot rod cruiser look. I chose the colors because it takes what would normally look like a heavy vehicle and gives it a lighter look.
Romell R Posted July 16, 2011 Posted July 16, 2011 Very nice , Love the two tone paint , keep up the excellent work!
Rob Z Posted July 16, 2011 Posted July 16, 2011 That really looks great... The paint is KILLER!!! I love the detail of these Galaxie kits, one of these days I'll get aroud to my S/D...
Sixties Sam Posted July 17, 2011 Posted July 17, 2011 That's looking great! If you said you were painting a model blue and green, I would think "yuck", but those shades look really good together! Good selection of colors! Sam
wgflatliner Posted July 17, 2011 Author Posted July 17, 2011 And where does the motorcycle kit come in??? i'll uhhhh.. get back to you on that.

wgflatliner Posted July 18, 2011 Author Posted July 18, 2011 so is it a resen kit or is a reg. old plastic kit im not sure but they have a huge high doller exspenive price tag on it. it's a styrene kit, but the level of detail is outstanding. my opinion: completely worth it.
wgflatliner Posted July 18, 2011 Author Posted July 18, 2011 threw on one coat of clear. proceded to run out. i also got a couple decals put on it. tomorrow i'm getting the rest of the clear, then wet sand it and polish it to high noon. Once that's done then i'll finally be able to button this bad boy up.
wgflatliner Posted July 18, 2011 Author Posted July 18, 2011 got a little more done. roof is flocked, windows in, dome light in, interior, etc. attached body to frame. once the front fenders are cured, then i'll be wet sanding and attaching, then it's on to final assembly.
