Scale-Master Posted July 21, 2011 Posted July 21, 2011 Made all the decals. Mixed the Pacific Blue. Detail painted the engine and driver… It is a 92 cent Hot Wheels...
Peter Lombardo Posted July 21, 2011 Posted July 21, 2011 A .92 cent Hot wheels?????....That is crazy. Great decal work....very impressive. That has to be the most modeled F1 car of all times....I have built 3 of them myself. This is the smallest P34 I have come across so far though.....nice job.
Harry P. Posted July 21, 2011 Posted July 21, 2011 Hard to believe that started out as a cheap toy. Amazing what can be done with a little skill and effort... you can even turn a 92¢ toy into an accurate scale replica!
Monty Posted July 22, 2011 Posted July 22, 2011 Kudos to the artist who doesn't let a tiny canvas stop him from creating a masterpiece. If memory serves, that livery was used for the Swedish GP in '75 or '76 and it's been my favorite version of that car since the first time I saw one. Somewhere in my boxes of slot cars, I may still have the Aurora G-Plus version.
RodneyBad Posted July 22, 2011 Posted July 22, 2011 WOW!! Really, A HotWheel? Dang, Really some Amazing work.. Looks Fantastic..
davyou5 Posted July 22, 2011 Posted July 22, 2011 It's been a long time since I have seen that Racer, Excellent Job! .
Scale-Master Posted July 22, 2011 Author Posted July 22, 2011 Thanks guys. I used the instructions from the 1/12 Tamiya kit I built (20!) years ago for reference. According to that, this is the Japanese GP version. (Note Japanese characters above the 3 on the front.)
