Tonioseven Posted July 25, 2011 Posted July 25, 2011 Hey. I rarely post progress threads anymore but I figured "why not?" with this one. A good friend gave me this and a few other kits before I moved to Florida and I promised him that I would build them. This one's been on the back burner for far too long and I got tired of it gettin' pushed to the back of the "to build" pile (hence the name). The paint is some fingernail polish I found laying around the house, rear spoiler is an Aoshima item, wheels are from the Shelby Series One with parts box tires. Mirrors and engine are from the '69 Cougar, hood scoop from an AMT El Camino, amplifier is from Hoppin' Hydros, and the woofers are from Scale Dreams. I made the fron chin spoiler from a scrap piece of plastic. Things changed a bit from the first picture to the last mockup pictures.
Jantrix Posted July 25, 2011 Posted July 25, 2011 Great work Tonio. Was that spoiler glued on for the color coat? I've wanted to do that several times, but I've been worried about paint on the underside and paint build up attempting to do so.
Tonioseven Posted July 25, 2011 Author Posted July 25, 2011 (edited) Hey! Yes, I glued it on for the color coats but it wasn't a huge worry since I was using an airbrush. Thank you for the kind words! Edited July 25, 2011 by Tonioseven
george 53 Posted July 25, 2011 Posted July 25, 2011 What color green is that Tonio? I LIKE it!!! Gonna be a NICE little ride when it's done. A 351 Cleveland in that rascal, hu? Gonna DEFINATELY suprise some Camaro's!!!
Tonioseven Posted July 25, 2011 Author Posted July 25, 2011 Hi George! I forget what the name of the color is, plus I threw the botthe away without writing the name down.
Tonioseven Posted July 25, 2011 Author Posted July 25, 2011 Thanks guys! The scoop is straight from the El Camino kit. I should've blended it in but perhaps I'll lay some carbon fiber decal over it.
David@MinidreamsInc. Posted July 25, 2011 Posted July 25, 2011 Dang T this thing is lookin real good !
Guest Posted July 26, 2011 Posted July 26, 2011 That's a sharp little Comet Antonio! I really like the color you painted it.
