ajulia Posted August 5, 2011 Posted August 5, 2011 (edited) Hello all! Hope everyone finds themselves in the best of spirit and in health. Its been a busy time for me so posting has been very limited and for that I apologize. I have just a brief update with the latest finished project and as always a few in the works! I finished the model with polly scale cat whisker yellow acrylic and masked off the rear panels to give it a "stingray tail" design. First time masking any body panels so imperfections are obvious around the tail light but as always "keep on wit the keepin on!! Thanks for stoppin and here's the pics.. Danno Posted August 5, 2011 Posted August 5, 2011 (Emoticon indicating "I see the pix" here.) Nice looking build; interesting stripe design. (Emoticon indicating approval here.)
ajulia Posted August 5, 2011 Author Posted August 5, 2011 Thanks fella.. Heres how the rear "kinda-sorta resembling the stingray swimming! lol
W-409 Posted August 6, 2011 Posted August 6, 2011 Clean build! That is a great kit of Corvette! I have two of them on project, other is going to be factory stock, but other one is going to be bit like factory's Prototype with '57 Corvette's top... But this one looks real nice build, paintjob is great and colors are great. I like the engine too. Interior is sharp, there is nothing to complaine about, nice model.
bsoder Posted August 6, 2011 Posted August 6, 2011 That's a sweet looking 'Vette..I've never had a masking job go perfectly. An aside question..have you had trouble lately with your PB and if you have do you use google chrome?
ajulia Posted August 6, 2011 Author Posted August 6, 2011 Mornin fellas! Thanks for stoppin!! Ive recently made the transition from enamels to acrylics and they both have their advantages and disadvantages! You get easier clean up but it seems the acrylic base dries even while its being sprayed. I have very small pits scattered throughout this build on the body. Ive probably sanded the body 5 or 6 times because of it. All in all it was a really cool build and assembly was awesome.. Also @ Mr. Soder! My PB just uploads differently now which is cool but I did enjoy the fact that right clicking on the topic box was easier! O well.... As always my friends Keep on wit the keepin on!! and be safe in yer travels! peace ajulia
Joe Handley Posted August 7, 2011 Posted August 7, 2011 Thanks fella.. Heres how the rear "kinda-sorta resembling the stingray swimming! lol Didn't Don Yenko use a stripe like that on his hot rodded Corvairs?
ajulia Posted August 7, 2011 Author Posted August 7, 2011 Didn't Don Yenko use a stripe like that on his hot rodded Corvairs? Im not sure fella! I wanted to try a masking job and add alittle accent to the curves on the rear paneling is all! Id like to see the pics of the corvair you speak of thats gotta look cool!!! I say that because the body cues in the 60's for sport/race cars were awesome lookin! Not to exaggerated like the 70's styles! Thanks for the heads up tho' I'll have to do the whole google thing!!
Tonioseven Posted August 7, 2011 Posted August 7, 2011 I really like that color on it!! I had this kit years ago but it was stolen along with a few others. I may have to find this one agin thanks to your fantastic build!!
