Dragracer Posted August 15, 2011 Posted August 15, 2011 Am really impressed by this build Jeff, really like the way the body is shaping up, from the wheelwell work to th side skirts to the front airdam, it all looks great. (if you have any plans on making any resin copies, let me know, wouldn't mind having one!)
hOLMS Posted August 17, 2011 Author Posted August 17, 2011 Hey all, not a lot of progress last 2 days, but some...couple things done that were a must. Some areas have been smoothed over, like the rear bumper mounts and the side vents filled and smoothed. Also, added plastic to area where I added front extension and smoothed over. Threw some putty on it and will smooth over some more. Next is to finish fenderwells, make some cool bumpers and make small details for frt air dam and side skirting. Thanks for looking. Tyrone, Raul and Richard...thanks for the comments. John, thanks man...means a lot coming from the true master!!
tyrone Posted August 17, 2011 Posted August 17, 2011 this thing is looking nasty Jeff, really like that first pic of the front end... keep up the goodwork...
gasser59 Posted August 17, 2011 Posted August 17, 2011 This is just plain sick. Love all of the body mods going on here and every new update just makes it more unbelievable. I'm definately dialed into this one.
Romell R Posted August 17, 2011 Posted August 17, 2011 On Point again Jeff outstanding work on that body man!
Dragracer Posted August 18, 2011 Posted August 18, 2011 It's lookin' good Jeff, really like the front end/nose area, gonna be following this build I think!
hOLMS Posted August 19, 2011 Author Posted August 19, 2011 Thanks for the comments....few small updates, thought I would share. Cheers!! Filler smoothed and front bumper started... Frt bumper filled and shaping started... First primer coat, let the smoothing begin...
Romell R Posted August 19, 2011 Posted August 19, 2011 Simply Artistic !! Excellent work Jeff , Excellent

futurattraction Posted August 19, 2011 Posted August 19, 2011 The work you do is amazing, Jeff. I'm mesmerized by the vision you have for transforming a stock, ho-hum-looking body into an automotive drag racing work of art...
John Teresi Posted August 19, 2011 Posted August 19, 2011 (edited) Jeff.......WOW, you sure do some fantastic work......BEAUTIFUL!!!!! Edited August 19, 2011 by John Teresi
Mooneyzs Posted August 19, 2011 Posted August 19, 2011 Holy Smokes Jeff... That body work is Beautiful... Looking really good. I can't believe how fast you did all that work.

Dragracer Posted August 19, 2011 Posted August 19, 2011 Can't think of anything new to say, it's been said right above me!, keep it up & please keep posting pics!
hOLMS Posted August 20, 2011 Author Posted August 20, 2011 Thanks for the comments guys, glad your enjoying this process. I've been slinging a little more putty and smoothing over some plastic, I really enjoy doing this kinda stuff. Thanks for looking. More frt bumper work and hood start... More body smoothing, almost becoming slick, good bit more to go... Frt bumper smoothing, little bit more shaping and smoothing to go, shouldn't take a lot more to finish this. Then I will make the rears.
Romell R Posted August 20, 2011 Posted August 20, 2011 Cant wait to see some paint on this one, great job!
pharr7226 Posted August 21, 2011 Posted August 21, 2011 This is a very cool time to be on the forum with you, Romell. Tyrone, Comp and others building these nasty promods. I love it!
hOLMS Posted August 21, 2011 Author Posted August 21, 2011 Thanks for looking guys, few more update pix of progress...moving right along, this is fun! New primer coat not too far away. I was planning on getting back to the Chevelle after finishing this body...I need to check the fit between this body and my brass chassis I built for the 2001 vette, may steel for this one if I think it will work? We'll see, included a pic of that chassis also. Started front inner wheelwell lips for flaring and trimming...used .020" thk, .125" wide strip Inner frt lips smoothed and flared Roughed in new "A" pillar...cut and formed from .030" thk sheet Mini-collection of build stages... Possible chassis for this one??
comp1839 Posted August 21, 2011 Posted August 21, 2011 (edited) jeff, your work on this has created a body that, at least in my opinion, has tremendous "presence". the front shot, front quarter shot, and side shot are extraordinary. again, just my opinion. hope you continue down the same path to the finish. ok. while i wrote this you posted some new stuff. just awesome work!
