Mooneyzs Posted August 22, 2011 Posted August 22, 2011 Jeff... what can I say this body is looking great and is awesome. That Brass and Copper chassis is totally sweet.
Romell R Posted August 22, 2011 Posted August 22, 2011 Outstanding Jeff I remember you saying something to me about that brass chassis great job on that too. looking forward to this coming together.
hOLMS Posted August 23, 2011 Author Posted August 23, 2011 Hey guys, I truly appreciate the comments....Able to sneek in some more this eve, couple pix. Thanks. Front window area close now and continued hood work...More "A" pillar trimming needed for sides, should be next 2nd primer coat, still have problem areas but not as many, much closer than b4....will start refilling 2morro hopefully. I keep forgetting to fill those door lines, ooops.
gasser59 Posted August 23, 2011 Posted August 23, 2011 With each post, it just gets better and better. Loving this build and all of the skillful craftsmanship.
Mooneyzs Posted August 23, 2011 Posted August 23, 2011 I have to agree with Brad on this. It just keeps getting better and better. that is one killer body. Ever think of casting any of your bodies?? This thing is looking great Jeff!!
Dragracer Posted August 23, 2011 Posted August 23, 2011 Agree with all the above, as Chris states, wouldn't mind seeing a resin version.
funhouse1 Posted August 23, 2011 Posted August 23, 2011 Wow...The artistry & craftsmanship involved in a build this complex just knocks my socks off...
hOLMS Posted August 27, 2011 Author Posted August 27, 2011 Thanks for the comments guys...resin would be cool. Anyways, I'm much closer to the finish line for this body to be done, bodywork that is. Next on the list is the rear window and taillight areas, then on to final finishing. Another couple days maybe? I have another body, in a P/M Dodge flavor, that may be falling in behind this one and anxious to start that one. Thanks for looking. Front window marked for more trimming....round .025" styrene placed down bottom of sides, around frt airdam and up rear wheel opening halfway for flaring. Filled and smoothed. Work for taillight area started...added a blend radius to taillight openings 3rd primer coat, finishing rear window and rear fascia work are next, then to final finishing.
Jantrix Posted August 27, 2011 Posted August 27, 2011 (edited) Wow. I really am enjoying this thread. I hope you've got some great graphics in mind for this. Edit. I've always thought of the third gen vettes as the "shark" body style. After all they were patterned after the Mako Shark II. So considering the size of this beast...................maybe paint it in the grey over white of a great white shark. Add some graphic "gills" where the vette vents (vette vents?) would go? And then some cool GREAT WHITE graphics? Use Discovery Channel as a sponsor. Just rambling. Edited August 27, 2011 by Jantrix

Dragracer Posted September 1, 2011 Posted September 1, 2011 Jeff, what do you use to make your bumpers? Started the bodywork on my '71 Dodge Demon Pro-Extreme today,(cutting out the front wheelwells to move them back a little), & I'm going to have to make a front bumper for it when I get that far.
