Thanks man! Appreciate all of the comments!

Tonight I got a lot of great progress done in the interior....very close to having it complete! I got the dash done, shifter installed (not very happy with how it looks though...very "blah"), front seats glued in, and the rear seat painted and flocked! All I need to do now is paint the steering column and wheel, install them, glue in the rear seat and glue in the dash. Then I can move onto something else...not sure what though. Here's tonight's progress pics:

Brodie, if it's not too late you could paint the shift boot black to help with your 'blah' assessment of it.

The rest of the interior looks good though. I too go along with your thoughts on the shifter.

Thanks guys! I already removed the shifter and am looking for a different one through my junk boxes. I know I have a few different shifters. I just parted out about 5 kits that either I screwed up badly and never finished them, or I lost parts and never finished them. LoL

nice work on that interior. if you happen to have a shifter from an ae86 kit, that will work. i have some extra ones, so if you need one PM me your address and ill mail one to ya.

Naw, I got one from an old Integra model that I'm never gonna build. Thanks though! The Integra shifter looks great and right at home :) Well the interior is finally finished (minus gluing the dash in place) so now I guess I get to move onto the body. Here's the interior pics...

Brodie, you forgot to put a key in the ignition. Normally, I wouldn't say anything about it but, as detailed as this thing is, you are going to need it for when you fill the engine and gas tank and try to start it. In all seriousness, this thing looks absolutely amazing. You just don't see too many build ups of Imports where people take this much time and put in such high detail.

Thanks Ken! I actually wanted to do a key in the ignition...but funny thing...the car didn't have an ignition on the steering column! Bummer...oh well. Today I'll most likely get the car in paint...after I get back from garage saling.

Alright guys, sorry I haven't updated this...mostly because I haven't done any updates on the kit. I've been preoccupied with a new purchase...a 1:1 1985 Toyota Celica GT-S with 120K miles and rust free! Bought it for $2250 locally and she's a bad-a$$ machine! 22R-E 4cyl with 5-speed manual and clean as can be (besides the odd dents and dings around the car). Here's what I got last Sunday:

Oh, and I'm about to go start on the body. Not sure if I'm going to try the Future method for primer or not...I bought the Duplicolor primer, so I might as well use it. Pics up in a bit!

Thanks! I like realism :)

Well I got the body/bumpers/hood painted and cleared. One thing I'm a little upset about is that the roof had one of those lines through the plastic when it was cast and it showed where it is through the paint. Dang it anyhow! Oh well...when the clear cures, I plan on wetsanding it and polishing it out so it'll look alright. Then I'll have to paint the flat black on the side mouldings and the bumper and whatnot. I didn't get any great pics (my camera died) so I'll have to post pics tomorrow. At least I got some progress done and on my way to finishing this thing! Oh yeah, and the distributor is finally on it's way from The Toy Box.

Because I wanted to build this stock, plain and simple. Now that I bought my '85 Celica, I wish I would have thought different about being stock. I have some plans for my 1:1 car that I'd like to test on a model to see if I like it or not.

Oh I'm going to...I already made a "WANTED" post. I'd love to build another one with a 22R-E engine/trans (which I already found and will order) and a scratch-built Celica front bumper.

As far as this build goes, I'm still waiting for my package from "The Toy Box" and I have to buy a polishing kit for the paint. I don't know if I really care to fix the roof...I'll post a few pics of what happened.

the paint looks good. shame about the line that appeared. i wonder why it came out if you used primer??

nice find on your 1:1 celica. that 22R will run forever. i had a GT coupe with an RV cam, header and exhaust. ran so nice. my nephew ended up selling it with out letting me take the parts off. <_<

Nice work on the exterior, too.

And very nice score on the 1:1. That's in great shape. I'm guessing it didn't see a lot of winter use around there for that kind of condition.

I woke up this morning, went downstairs and painted the spark plug boots, as well as started working on the valve covers. Since I took them off the tree to de-chrome them, I couldn't paint them with holding them in my fingers, so I glued them to the engine and painted them installed. I think they turned out pretty good. The silver on the lettering and ribs came out alright...I was hoping the raised parts would come out a little better, but I'm still happy with it. Now I may have to move on to another spot on the car until my parts arrive from Australia. Maybe the interior?
