Danno Posted August 27, 2011 Posted August 27, 2011 Here is the weather forecast for the next 1000 years: Two phunny!!!
FASTBACK340 Posted August 27, 2011 Posted August 27, 2011 Well, the media has everyone in a frenzy here in the NYC area.... They are already predicting how long the power will be out! Imagine that? It was sunny & 80 today and they know how long the power will be out next Sunday!!!! I swear, the news makes things so much worst. I put away all the loose stuff that might take flight, the `Cuda is under her cover in the garage, and I'll park my wife's car in our fenced-in yard tomorrow night so debris from the neighborhood will (hopefully...) stay off it. We have Dog & People food, water, batteries, Scotch, Wine, acoustic Bass, and a car charger for my i-Phone. I can BBQ in the garage and the VW has a full tank and cranking air conditioning. Let it rain....
Foxer Posted August 27, 2011 Posted August 27, 2011 (edited) Well, the media has everyone in a frenzy here in the NYC area.... They are already predicting how long the power will be out! Imagine that? It was sunny & 80 today and they know how long the power will be out next Sunday!!!! I swear, the news makes things so much worst. Let it rain.... It really is getting insane here ... 3 hours north of you in the Berkshires. We got an automated call today saying we would be without power for a week! If they are so intuitive, why weren't they here today to fix it! Edited August 27, 2011 by Foxer
LoneWolf15 Posted August 27, 2011 Posted August 27, 2011 Prayers for all in it's path ! Daughter , son in law , and granddaughter left NC and are now in Pgh. No wonder the hair is turning white !
Eshaver Posted August 27, 2011 Posted August 27, 2011 I hate Hurricanes , too much rain and they affect muh Arthritis too................ Ed Shaver
Dr. Cranky Posted August 27, 2011 Posted August 27, 2011 Hope everyone stays safe and dry, and if you lose power check back in when you can.
Junkman Posted August 27, 2011 Posted August 27, 2011 (edited) ...We have...Scotch... You're sorted. Edited August 27, 2011 by Junkman
FASTBACK340 Posted August 27, 2011 Posted August 27, 2011 My final preparation for the storm was a visit to our favorite Italian restaurant. The Wife had Chilean Sea Bass and I Sausage & Peppers w/ Linguini. And yes, she had Chardonnay, I had Johnny Red on ice. Now it can rain......
Harry P. Posted August 27, 2011 Posted August 27, 2011 We have...Scotch... But if the power goes out, no ice. Oh well... neat is is, then!
Chuck Most Posted August 27, 2011 Posted August 27, 2011 But if the power goes out, no ice. Oh well... neat is is, then! Keep the freezer door shut, open it ONLY when you have to, and ice will keep for quite a while even without power. I still was able to enjoy scotch on the rocks during a three day power outage in mid summer.
Agent G Posted August 27, 2011 Posted August 27, 2011 We have the related issues out west. McCarran Airport is jam packed with folks who's flights were cancelled as airlines grounded planes. 12 hour delays are about the norm as of today. I could think of worse places to be delayed than Las Vegas. All you folks back east stay safe now, hear? G
Dr. Cranky Posted August 27, 2011 Posted August 27, 2011 I used to have a Gumbo party whenever a hurricane came into Baton Rouge. I hope everyone stays safe and dry in the North East.
crazyjim Posted August 28, 2011 Posted August 28, 2011 CNN is showing NYC getting hammered right now and more coming. Times Square looks very strange with no people in it. The East River is just to overflow level now. I hope you folks up that way evacuated if you were supposed to and will be okay.
Dr. Cranky Posted August 28, 2011 Posted August 28, 2011 You never want to take the power of a storm lightly. It's always better to be safe than sorry. I hope everyone is hanging in there.
FASTBACK340 Posted August 28, 2011 Posted August 28, 2011 I'm grateful to report we didn't get anything more than leaves on our property. No storm damage at all.... no flooding, power is on, and my ice is safe for my Scotch. I know some forum members didn't fair as well and I wish them a speedy & painless rebuild. I can't imagine loosing everything............. Hope everyone else is safe & sound.
