Here is another one that I recently finished. This is Revell's 70 Superbird with a few updates. This is the 1991 issue that was molded in blue. The rerelease was comming and I decided that I need to get one of these done. I used the rally's from the 71 GTX kit as they are the same size as the tire in this kit. I used Keith Marks decals, BMF and MCG photoetch hood pins on it. The engine and interior are box stock with no extra parts added. I did spruce up the chassis some. I cut the exhaust away from the axle and made them seperate peices. It was easier than I thought it would be. I also added rear shocks from my parts box. They are from a revell kit but don't remember if they are from the 68 Landy Carger or one of the Dart kits.

I did paint this one with Testors spays and did not leave it in the molded blue. I did that with my original build back when these were new. I still have that one and did the same wheel swap and used leftover decals from the MPC 71 Superbird.

very nice!

nice to see a detailed black chassis too :D way too much of the factory overspray deal these days IMO.

did you lower the front suspension too? the old Monogram Mopars are all famous for a off-road front stance.

I'm with ya on the chassis thing Dave. The overspray may be factory correct but it just doesn't look all that interesting on a model.

My ex brother in law bought one of these new in '70...orange with a black vinyl top. First day, he drove the front end right into the ball hitch on the back of his pick-up because you can't see the front four feet of the front end. You don't want to know how much that front end cost the ins.company.

Nice build Raoul, brought back some fun memories.

But that's how they were! Are you tired of all the accuracy these days???

Great build of my favorite car, After my first $1 million I plan on purchasing a real one

Good news... the prices have been falling. You might not need a whole million... ;)

Thanks everyone. I really like these 80's kits that I built back then. I still have my original Revell Superbird kit that I built 20 years ago. I was going to restore it but I had two more unbuilt so I started a new kit. I was thinking of grafting in the AMT 69 GTX inner fenders and firewall to correct the bad ones in this kit. Scale became an issue so I left them alone.
