caine440 Posted August 26, 2011 Posted August 26, 2011 (edited) Playing with an old AMT Challenger kit. Edited September 19, 2011 by caine440
Rob Z Posted August 26, 2011 Posted August 26, 2011 That looks like it could be the Yankee Challanger... Going to be interesting to see what you do with it...
caine440 Posted August 26, 2011 Author Posted August 26, 2011 Yep, it is an old Yankee Challenger kit.
John Teresi Posted August 26, 2011 Posted August 26, 2011 Roger......you may be playing with an old AMT kit?.......but,sure look`s like your having fun........can`t wait to see this finished.
george 53 Posted August 26, 2011 Posted August 26, 2011 That's about the ONLY way you'll find a 71 Challenger at a decent price! Who's conversion kit is that? I have one that looks identical to yours but comes with the rear lower quarter panel vents also. This is gonna be an interesting build! Imma be watchin this rascal!
caine440 Posted August 26, 2011 Author Posted August 26, 2011 (edited) 71 Challengers are tough to come by. Here is a sneak peak at one I am trying to finish. Edited August 26, 2011 by caine440
caine440 Posted September 2, 2011 Author Posted September 2, 2011 Just a quick mock up after the primer. Still need to find a good rattle can primer. Thanks for looking!
Rob Z Posted September 2, 2011 Posted September 2, 2011 Sure is looking rather purdy... You've done wonders with this bastard of a kit...
ratnasty Posted September 2, 2011 Posted September 2, 2011 (edited) Cain try using the Lindberg Challenger , it makes perfect platform to start with and it is diamesionally the same as the MPC car . Also you would not have to mess with the roof . I've done a couple and when there done you can't tell the difference Chuck Edited September 10, 2011 by ratnasty
iBorg Posted September 2, 2011 Posted September 2, 2011 I've never considered the Lindberg Challenger. Can you PLEASE (that's me begging) post pictures. The roof issues of the Yankee Challenger always gets me to pass on it, even through I have six or seven of them. Hmmm.....Lindberg body, AMT chassis and Jo-Han engine. Just need to figure out how to throw something from Revell in there.
hOLMS Posted September 2, 2011 Posted September 2, 2011 Hi Roger, I'm really digging this build, like the mock-up. Looking forward to seeing this one finished.
mageckman Posted September 3, 2011 Posted September 3, 2011 Roger, beautiful work on this Challenger. If I may ask, where did you get the Rod Shop Decals?
caine440 Posted September 3, 2011 Author Posted September 3, 2011 Thanks Chuck for the tip on the lindberg kit. I have seen them on ebay but box photos look so poor I was afraid that would be as bad as the monogram body. Chris, I bought them for a very nice website. http://stores.intuitwebsites.com/hstrial-RSetzer/StoreFront.bok
Dr. Cranky Posted September 3, 2011 Posted September 3, 2011 Looking real good. I hope you make more progress soon.
mageckman Posted September 3, 2011 Posted September 3, 2011 Roger, thank you for posting that website. I've been looking for Rod Shop stuff and haven't been able to find much at all.
ratnasty Posted September 3, 2011 Posted September 3, 2011 Cain do you mind if I post the pics of the Lindberg Challenger conversion on you thread to show you and everyone else how I did it thanks Chuck
caine440 Posted September 4, 2011 Author Posted September 4, 2011 Not at all Chuck! I would love to see it! Thanks!
