They are too large in diameter for 1/24 & 1/25th scale. They may work for 1/16th scale though.

Not!..... a ink pen spring is way too small for 1/16th

It does depend on what kind of pen, too- most of the ones I've seen are either about the right height but too large in diameter, or way too small in diameter and too tall. I wouldn't say its impossible, but it would be a lot of searching.

Its been a looooong time since I worked on 1/16th scale. As most of you guys probably do, I turn my own springs by bending flexible rod over a piece of tubing.

i agree with andy. ive used them and they look good to me. once there un der the body with the suspension they just look like heavy duty shocks. also if youre really concerned with the size you can always use a set of small tip needle nose pliers and re-shape the spring.

It depends on the specific car and scale. You can wrap the appropriate size wire around the threads of an appropriate size screw. Then unscrew the screw from your new spring. Remember most screws have a fine and coarse thread for each diameter size.

It depends on the pen ! Lol ! You have to open up alot of them before you find the right ones ! Kathie came up with a bunch from work that are the perfect size . I do make my own from wire also .

I make two little washers, top & bottom, then take small wire and rap it around a piece of plastic stock,, slid it off, pull it apart a little, cut to size, then put it on my shocks,, works good for me,, and looks good,,
