hOLMS Posted September 2, 2011 Posted September 2, 2011 (edited) Hi guys, since I'm in the finishing stages of the 68 Corvette P/M bodywork, I went ahead with some of the beginnings of my next body experiment, just aching for some plastic cutting I guess. I know I should finish one and I will soon, probably will be a "New"stalgia type funny car, after I have this one and a Ford body done....anyways, going for broke on this 2010 Dodge Challenger. I do love these cars, but they certainly have funky proportions. So, we'll see where it goes. Thanks for looking. Hope you enjoy.Basic start point with rear fascia marked for removalRear fascia removed and top marked for relocatingTop removed, moved cut portion 3/8" towards rear to reduce "Greenhouse"Before and after of top relocation, wheel center-to-center shows finished wheelbase Edited February 22, 2013 by hOLMS
futurattraction Posted September 2, 2011 Posted September 2, 2011 (edited) Wow, another one started already. I'll be followng along..., as usual! I'm really curious to see what you're planning to do to put wedge into it and "debulk" the lower portion of the body. Edited September 2, 2011 by futurattraction
Mooneyzs Posted September 2, 2011 Posted September 2, 2011 Oh man Jeff... this is going to be another sweet body mod by you. I look forward to seeing this come together. See what you have done with your Chevelle body and the Vette... This is gonna be awesome
Dragracer Posted September 2, 2011 Posted September 2, 2011 The 2010 is looking good so far, I'm sure I'll enjoy this build as much as all the others!
eviltwincustoms Posted September 3, 2011 Posted September 3, 2011 I will be watching this one as well. Just like Futureattraction, I am curious to see what you do to the lower half of the rockers to section the body.
hOLMS Posted September 3, 2011 Author Posted September 3, 2011 Thanks for looking in so far guys....inching forward a little bit and thought I would share. I call this one the "Challenging Challenger"....lol. Anyways, next on the list is to finish the top, tuck the rear fenders in behind rear tires (sort of hanging out like a parachute) and finish the wheel openings. Hope to get a little bit done this weekend.
Dragracer Posted September 4, 2011 Posted September 4, 2011 The body is coming along nicely Jeff, I think the "Challenging Challenger" would be a nice name to put on it!
hOLMS Posted September 4, 2011 Author Posted September 4, 2011 Hey guys, thanks for looking...Richard, I think I might go with the name, it fits. Derrick, appreciate it. Moved fwd a little more. I've included shots of frt, rear and a B4 and AFT of current progress. Once I get this frt end sewed up and filled, will be time to move to the rear. Then, when the whole body is smoothed over somewhat, I may be be wedging here and there to add some small curves on the overall profile, not sure yet.
RodneyB Posted September 4, 2011 Posted September 4, 2011 WOW!! Awesome Transformation. Can't wait to see it in Primer..
tyrone Posted September 4, 2011 Posted September 4, 2011 this is looking like all of your stuff ...TOP NOTCH.....

Mooneyzs Posted September 7, 2011 Posted September 7, 2011 Jeff.. Looking great buddy. It is starting to take shape. looks like everything fits together like a puzzle. You are doing some awesome work.
futurattraction Posted September 7, 2011 Posted September 7, 2011 Amazing work, Jeff... I'm mesmerized by your body work and "vision" of how they should look to be proportionally correct while keeping enough factory appearance to maintain their identity.
eviltwincustoms Posted September 7, 2011 Posted September 7, 2011 Very impressive, you make it look so easy. I am almost half tempted to pull out my 70 cuda and start working on the body again.
Dragracer Posted September 7, 2011 Posted September 7, 2011 The body work is awesome Jeff, really like the front airdam thats on it.
baddgass Posted September 8, 2011 Posted September 8, 2011 Lots of work, but going to be real nice when finish.
pharr7226 Posted September 8, 2011 Posted September 8, 2011 Another very impressive display of bodywork talent!
hOLMS Posted September 13, 2011 Author Posted September 13, 2011 Hi all, been able to work on this body a bit more. Couple pix of progress, should be in primer b4 too much longer, now I'm moving into the fine-tuning of the shape and sealing/smoothing it all up. Thanks for the comments and looking, I appreciate it very much!! I hope to have this car built over the winter.
