Modelmartin Posted September 9, 2011 Posted September 9, 2011 A Gurgel? Sounds like something from "Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy". Where is this thing manufactured? You rteally found a weird one, Harry! I was totally stumped.
MikeMc Posted September 9, 2011 Posted September 9, 2011 If I may assist ....Andy that monstrosity was a Brazilian number..short lived. And Harry was kind as the truck version was worse looking!!!
CorvairJim Posted September 9, 2011 Posted September 9, 2011 All I can say is that those seven guys listed above either are much more knowlegable about these obscure foreign cars than I am, or they have WAY too mch time on thir hands!

You rteally found a weird one, Harry! I was totally stumped. They were made Brazil, mostly with VW underpinnings. The one Harry selected this time is the dismal swansong of the company. Gurgel built some nice beach buggys and beetle-based replicas in its days. I believe the most popular one would be the Xavante, which was a veritable VW Thing alternative.:

Or well travelled. You can't avoid seeing Gurgels when you are in Brazil. They are surprisingly popular there.

I've never seen one of these either, but then I've never Gurgeled in Brazil...
