Red rocket 10 Posted August 4, 2012 Posted August 4, 2012 Joe the tubs look great ! I love this build , keep up the outstanding work! Leonard
Prostreet Posted August 5, 2012 Author Posted August 5, 2012 Thx. guys i appreciate it, I added my lower front clip mounts built out of brass and used some dirt modeler brass Dzus tabs. Took alot of patience to solder those tiny tabs on there, But i managed to pull it off. I also added some tabs to the firewall for the turbo mounts. Have to add some more tabs to the chassis, The next update the chassis should have color once i figure out what color to paint it.
futurattraction Posted August 5, 2012 Posted August 5, 2012 That looks fantasic Joe... Lookin' forward to your next update already!
Prostreet Posted August 8, 2012 Author Posted August 8, 2012 (edited) Thx. Scott, Well i reached a mile stone in this build today, At least for me. The chassis is painted, i used testors one coat lacquer. The color is diamond dust, I didn't want a dark color this is more like a silver and it does have a little to much metallic in it for me. But none the less it turned out good and i think it should look good once i start hanging stuff on it. Gonna give it a day or 2 to dry then do the carbon underneath and on the door bars then i can hit it with the clear. Mean while i'm gonna get started on a new intake for the engine. I will have to try to get better pictures once it is cleared, It is way brighter than the pictures show. Edited August 8, 2012 by Prostreet
comp1839 Posted August 8, 2012 Posted August 8, 2012 you should be really proud of that one, joe! it turned out quite excellent!!!!!

Mooneyzs Posted August 9, 2012 Posted August 9, 2012 Joe.... that Chassis sure looks great with paint on it. I really like the color choice too. Man you have to feel like you hit a big milestone getting this painted. You sure have me wanting to get paint on my funny car chassis now
Prostreet Posted August 9, 2012 Author Posted August 9, 2012 Thx. guys, Now i just need to put together a list of things i need to do the interior.
futurattraction Posted August 9, 2012 Posted August 9, 2012 It looks super, Joe. I used that same color on a build I started. You're right - the metallic is pretty pronounced, but it's a nice color overall. I'll look forward to more updates, soon...
Prostreet Posted August 9, 2012 Author Posted August 9, 2012 (edited) Thx. Guys, How long do you guys think i should let the paint sit till i add the carbon decals? Edited August 9, 2012 by Prostreet
Red rocket 10 Posted August 9, 2012 Posted August 9, 2012 Joe you've out done yourself , that is one beautiful chassis! Leonard
71datsun1200 Posted August 9, 2012 Posted August 9, 2012 I got the wheels and brakes done. You should get them in a few days. ###### !!!
Prostreet Posted August 13, 2012 Author Posted August 13, 2012 (edited) Thx. for the kind words guys, The chassis is cleared and i made the center part that goes between the tubs. I still need to polish the carbon parts and i'm going to dull coat the underside of the tubs( the black part only), but had to throw it together for a couple pictures ( keep in mind the tubs are just sitting there and not fitted all the way in) I'm starting to get really excited now because i get to start adding goodies and it's all starting to come together. I also added the door latches to the chassis you can see in the one picture, They are for looks only. I will be using tiny magnets to keep the doors fully shut. Edited August 13, 2012 by Prostreet
