From what photos I have seen, I'll buy one still. I want to build a clone of one I used to work on years ago. I think it'll pass the "Rivitt counters approval once I'm done ......... Ed Shaver

I don't like it, I don't want it, and I find it a pitty that all this effort was spent on this and not something else. But that's just me, so it only counts within my minority.

But the kit exists now. Fact. And some people are bashing it. Fact. So the question is, do they have a point, yes, or no? What exactly are they critizising?

I'm not a fan of the Hudson.but I'm happy that it was made.I will buy one, when I don't know.I see the ads for them.but don't see the kit its self here yet.when it gets here.I'll get some.I'm a builder.if there is something I don't like....I can fix it to make me happy.I've seen manys that don't turn my fancy.but when I get it.my imagination starts working and I fix what I don't like.that is one part of modeling I love....I can change it if I don't like it...what ever it is.I'm just happy to get something that gets me a start on the build.so I'm fine with it and will build as many as I feel i want.so thank you Moebius.we want more new tooled kits.Thank you,Chris

My whole issue is this...

What, exactly, does perfect mean?

I'm assuming for most modelers it means the kit is an unflinchingly accurate representation of the real vehicle. Is such an animal possible? With today's technology, I think it is. In fact, the Moebius Lonestar kit, to me anyway, is 'perfect' in appearance- all you need are basic modeling skills and you'd be hard pressed to tell the model from a real one in a photo.

But we've all heard of that iffy 'scale effect' thing, right? Where something IS correct, but just doesn't look right scaled down. That's the human element, and that's the reason there never will be a 'perfect' kit in that respect. Even if this kit, whatever it is, is ever released, the manufacturer can provide all the 3D scans, CAD drawings, photographic overlays, and scientific data they like to prove it is perfect, but someone, somewhere, is still going to look at the model and say "Huh, something just doesn't look right."

Well I haven't seen any Bashing here, just some good observations.

Mr Zinn may be a bit pickie but I can't wait to see what he does to the Ones he has.

I'll sure to be gettin at least One or maybe two to make up for the peeps that don't want one. :D<_<

That pretty much sums it up for me; I wasn't going to get one but because of all of the hoopla, I feel the need to build it and work through whatever issues I find with it. I have enough REAL issues in life to be worried about problems with a non-life threatening lump of plastic. B)

I've never had a visitor to my home break out calipers and 3-views to dissect the inaccuracy of a displayed model.

I don't get all the hoopla

I got one last night at the hobby store that I go to and it is beautiful. Nice kit. There is a little clean up but what the hay, all kits have a little clean up of some kind. No biggie. It does remind me of when I was a kid and looking at the real car and thinking, Man this thing sure is ugly. LOL. I just wish there was a kit of the 56 Packard Executive so i could build a replica of my Dad's 56. Oh well, I'll build this car and like it no matter what. (Man, I wish we had the emotocons to put in here) Smiling as I write this. Dan

What I loved about the "Good Old Days" was the process of turning inaccurate under-detailed models into acuurate super detailed show winners. With all of these newer well detailed very accurate models like the Moebius Hudson Hornet coming out is that it takes all of the fun out of building for me! I hate these models!

For years I wanted to build a Chi-town Hustler Dodge Charger funny car. Now that a beautiful, well detailed and quite accurate kit is out I have lost all desire to build it!

In conclusion, the model manufacturers are ruining the hobby for me.

Buying the kit, opening it up, looking it over and reporting what you found here on the forum is not bashing. Why do so many of you seem to have a problem when anyone says anything other than "I love everything about this kit?" Are members here not allowed to have an honest opinion anymore?

Seriously... why are you guys that are so offended by what others say... always so offended???

Maybe a forum where people are free to discuss topics and express themselves isn't for you?

Oh, yeah, one more thing. The people who spoke up about what they saw as wrong or incorrect on the Hornet kit when Moebius posted those test shot photos... you know, the "bashers"... well, you can thank those people and Moebius, because Moebius took the "bashers" advice and made the kit better than it originally was going to be.

I'm offended. It's not nice to hurt other peoples' feelings.

One of the reasons why I came over to this forum was because I found it refreshing that people here were allowed to express their opinions and share their sense of humor, dark imagination, sarcasm--whatever. It's what makes this place so much fun.

The thing that I always keep in mind is RESPECT. You have to respect others and their opinions if you want RESPECT back.

It's a simple exchange. And BEAUTIFUL!

Well, I love this kit so much that I would marry it if I wasn't already married. LOL (cause I can't use the emotocons for some reason). I can't even change the size of the letters here or use the bold thingy. Now that's something to worry about instead of the plastic model in my opinion. LOL again. Try and lighten up a little. Go build a model instead of complaining. Dan

That kind of thinking is why people are grossly over-paying for those krap-in-a-box Trumpeter Falcon/Ranchero kits.

Hey! Everybody is entitled to their own opinion.

We live in an imperfect world after all so it is fallacy to expect perfection! Especially in something as trivial as a model car!

Are there errors in the Trumpeter kits? Most definitely! But compared to what they used to be they have come a long way!

Moebius has kept their prices reasonable by comparison. But we do not know what the overhead differences are between the two companies! Maybe Trumpeter can't sell any cheaper!

I imagine there are way more willing to deal with the issues on both as opposed to not having them produced at all!

Truthfully if you look at the costs of anything else the prices of models in reality should be way higher than they are now! But they reality is the market in the end will dictate price!

The only thing I've seen on Spotlight is some hints about getting the kit built to help correct a couple of foibles in the instructions. A couple of 'maybe it could have been better done this way' comments but there again given in respect to the company. Anything posted on that site has only been helpful to fellow builders and nothing, I believe, would offend Moebius.

I'm calling BS on this entire thread. I'm also challenging Mr. Myers to reveal what forum this so-called "bashing" of the Hudson kit is taking place on. If he doesn't, I think we can take that as a tacit admission that he pulled the whole thing out of his nether regions in a weak attempt to start yet another chimp-like fecal fling.

There hasn't been any "bashing" of the Hudson kit posted on this forum since it was released. On that, I think we can agree. Dave Zinn's comments were NOT bashing and anyone who thinks they were is an idiot (as is anyone who thinks Dave's use of a particular emoticon muddies the waters in any fashion.)

So ... if not here, where then? Spotlight Hospice, maybe? Highly unlikely. Tom Carter is selling the Hudson kits, so you know he's gonna be quick to pull the "delete" trigger on any comments that can even be remotely construed as "bashing," lest they affect his sales. Besides, I question whether Mr. Myers — whose ceaseless puling about the "lateness" of the Revell '40 Standard kit on the SH board was the stuff of legend and apparently became a running joke at Revell _ can even access the SH board since he was banished from there.

Scale Auto Forum? Again, I seriously doubt Jim Haught is going to allow any type of gratuitous bashing to remain up there for long.

So ... if not on any of the three major general-interest car modeling forums, then where, Mr. Myers?

I'm sorry. Did I say "Bashing" ? I meant : appraisal, appreciation, assessment, comment, commentary, critique, elucidation, essay, estimate, evaluation, examination, exposition, judgment, notice, observation, opinion,

and let's not forget: hints, comments , bring notice, concerns, maybe it could have been done this way, and what ever else you want to call it.

"Where" Ken ? Not on this board, as I state in the title of this thread. "What other board? Opinions, ideas, comments, et.al. are certainly there.
