Joe Handley Posted October 2, 2011 Posted October 2, 2011 Just got started on mine tonight! the box Outta the box and after being attacked my me, still need a little standing to be done on the rear end though.
Chuck Most Posted October 2, 2011 Posted October 2, 2011 Hey... that must have been the Hudson you mentioned last evening in chat, while I was also in chat and working on my own Hudson!
Joe Handley Posted October 2, 2011 Author Posted October 2, 2011 Yup, and it'll be just about time to.break out the putty tomorrow to fill in the seams for the front fenders and daisy panel as well as fill that big hole in the trunk......wonder where I put that extra styrene strip I had............ ..
Dr. Cranky Posted October 2, 2011 Posted October 2, 2011 Go, Billy, go! Another one joins in the fun!
W-409 Posted October 2, 2011 Posted October 2, 2011 Am I now at Hudson's factory or in ModelCarsMagazine forum? Nice to see these being built, I must get one, or two, or three, when I got money for it. Great job with it so far.
Joe Handley Posted October 2, 2011 Author Posted October 2, 2011 They're worth ir Niko, $28 US is a very fair price for this kit.
Joe Handley Posted October 2, 2011 Author Posted October 2, 2011 Honestly Dave, ditching those fender things alone clean it up nicely. I may not even change the rims out after that little conversatoon you and Harry had on how clean they looked stock.
Dave Metzner Posted October 3, 2011 Posted October 3, 2011 Those things on top of the front fenders are just chrome trim pieces - Not lights... Just chunks of chrome... I checked a bunch of pics of real cars - see them on 1951,52 & 53 Hornets I have pics of a 49 Step Down Hudson and it has similar pieces of chrome on the front fenders
Joe Handley Posted October 3, 2011 Author Posted October 3, 2011 Thanks for the info Dave, thought those things looked kinda pointless.
Joe Handley Posted October 3, 2011 Author Posted October 3, 2011 (edited) Got around to starting the putty work on this, a Revell '48 Ford sled, and that '65 Wildcat sled I started a while back too. Productive day off, huh? Edited October 3, 2011 by Joe Handley
aarondupont Posted October 3, 2011 Posted October 3, 2011 Mine came the other day. It's toward the top of my build stack! Most likely a "gasser". Contemplating radiused rear wheel wells. But it could look good leaving them be and raise it up some. Not sure yet if I'll put a straight front axle on it, or jack up front suspension. Also thinking of injected Buick Nailhead motor.
