Jantrix Posted October 16, 2011 Author Posted October 16, 2011 (edited) Guys.................thanks very much. It and a couple other builds are at the show now, Awards tomorrow. There is sooo much great work there, we'll see how it stacks up. Jim, whatever problems you were having with your finishes, you've obviously solved it. You really brought your A-Game. Great stuff. Chuck Most Posted October 16, 2011 Posted October 16, 2011 There is sweet, and there is BEYOND sweet. This one fits well within the second category.
Jantrix Posted October 16, 2011 Author Posted October 16, 2011 (edited) Thanks everyone. I recieved a first place award today for best commercial at the Tampa MAGS show. Very gratifying. Edited October 16, 2011 by Jantrix
Dr. Cranky Posted October 16, 2011 Posted October 16, 2011 Congratulations, a truck like this clearly deserves the attention. Love the contrast of the new and old. Cheers.
crazyjim Posted October 16, 2011 Posted October 16, 2011 The pics don't do it justice, Rob. Excellent build and great seeing you again.
CorvairJim Posted October 17, 2011 Posted October 17, 2011 Rob: The combo looks great! I really liked the "Flatbed Ford" when you built it for the "Rock 'n' Roll" CBP, but the trailer and it's load of used parts puts it right over the top! Buddy, you just flat hit this one out of the park. (They have a minor league team in Winslow, AZ, right?)
Jantrix Posted October 17, 2011 Author Posted October 17, 2011 (They have a minor league team in Winslow, AZ, right?) Yep and it's such a fine sight to see.
gasser59 Posted October 17, 2011 Posted October 17, 2011 (edited) Wow Rob. Love both of these but the trailer is even more incredible. All of the little details are outstanding and really increase its realistic look. Looks like you had to ooen up the holes in the Mustang hubcaps. I've done this on my diorama and its no small feat to make it look right. How about a hole in each headlight bowl for the electrical wires and just a touch of weathering on the model cars sticker? Other than that, everything is perfect IMHO. Nicely done. What happens if I call that number on the tailgate? Edited October 17, 2011 by gasser59

What happens if I call that number on the tailgate? Thanks very much everyone. Yeah, carving a set of "rims" down to hubcaps was not a great deal of fun. I have added some dullcoat to the compressed air tank since taking the photos. Looks much better. And if you call, you are likely to piss off some poor stranger in Illinois. crazyjim Posted October 17, 2011 Posted October 17, 2011 There's a ton of strange people in Illinois.
Dominik Posted October 18, 2011 Posted October 18, 2011 Very nice Ford and parts in the trailer. Nice details - well done!
