whale392 Posted November 28, 2011 Posted November 28, 2011 No it wouldn't as all of the Bullitt specific stuff is available aftermarket (and even some still through Ford).
martinfan5 Posted November 28, 2011 Author Posted November 28, 2011 (edited) G- thanks, thats what I did, well I did the gunmetal part. I know I said i was not going to start another build for this CBP intell some one on here gets one finished Edited November 28, 2011 by martinfan5
Olskoolrodder Posted November 29, 2011 Posted November 29, 2011 (edited) Mine will be done this week. WOuld have been done by tomorrow, but Dad had to take Mom to the hospital earlier this afternoon and they're keeping her overnight (nothing too serious,I'm told) and I've had to house my 16 year old brother (my 6'5" tall 250lb little brother-I'm 38,5'9" and 160,LMBO! What I lack in size to him,I make up for in spades with mean-ness ) and that makes for three kids (two teens) and a LOUD house,LOL,so no work on it this eve (I have no excuse for earlier today )......the point? Be GROKKING that kit,Jonathan ol buddy,it won't be long Edited November 29, 2011 by Olskoolrodder
Rick Schmidt Posted November 29, 2011 Posted November 29, 2011 Bradley the whole Idea of me sourcing another hood is to keep all the Factory stock parts. I can easily return the car to original if needed. Instead of filling the holes on my factory trunk lid I actually have a second Spoiler delete lid awaiting paint As far as the build goes I decided to put some future on my 08 Bullitt ..... glad I only did the hood to start ... it looks like chit now I gotta redo the hood
martinfan5 Posted November 29, 2011 Author Posted November 29, 2011 I have had mix results using future as well, when it goes right, its very nice, but when it doesn't it really does look bad
GTMust Posted November 29, 2011 Posted November 29, 2011 ............but I always wondered if I'd be happy with a V6 car for a daily........... My '99 is a V6, completely stock. For a daily driver it's got more than enough power.... unless the thrill of burning the tread off your back tires appeals! Advantages....... lower insurance rates and better gas mileage. Disadvantages........ no bragging rights! But to a lot of my (non car guy) friends it's "Wow, love your Mustang!" Tony

Disadvantages........ no bragging rights! But to a lot of my (non car guy) friends it's "Wow, love your Mustang!" Tony Well actually,yeah...I do wear through rear tires pretty fast on a daily basis now that you mention it (hard to resist,LOL,especially with recent mods, not the least of which going from .273 to .373 rear gears,LOL). I had planned on buying a Bullitt ('08),or clean '05+ GT as early as late '13-early '14 (at current income\budget levels),but then I got ALL excited because something looked to be a possibility of making it happen in the next several months-until I realised that while possible,it's not something I want to be the kind of man to do (nothing illegal,BTW),so it's looking like the original time-frame,have I mentioned I'm not the most patient fellow? Well, the wife's telling me now she wants to have Lasik surgery in both eyes, which would obviously take much priorety over a car want...If I were to start more serious parts on my '94 (maybe the afore-mentioned S281 clone? Or at least,a quest for low 12's and still be well rounded),I think I'd like having a '99+ V6 car (I like em with the wing and hood scoop though...no offense Rick ),and if it were an automatic, the wife could drive it too ( a plus, she wants to drive one,and I enjoy her happiness),and I think they sound sweet with the right exhaust (as in,looking for a particular sound, not looking to build it up)...sorry,didn't mean to off subject so much, but hey,it's Mustangs
martinfan5 Posted November 29, 2011 Author Posted November 29, 2011 Hey as long of some talk of models occurs in here its ok to go off a topic a little, as most of the off topic stuff in here is about mustangs anyways
Rick Schmidt Posted November 29, 2011 Posted November 29, 2011 I feel the same. We're keeping the talk about Mustangs, and ya never know our 1/1 discussion could be helping our scale builds Still aint done nothing to mine yet still disappointed about that hood. Can you get Future off without wrecking the paint under?? If not my Bullit may be stalled for a while cause I painted this car a year or two ago and no longer have the can of Fathom Green. I sprayed it the same time I did the 68 so aside from the clear on the 08 they were the exact same color
martinfan5 Posted November 29, 2011 Author Posted November 29, 2011 From what I have read is yo can use windex to remove the futrue without harming the paint underneath, but please dont quote me on that Here is a very nice page on using future on models http://www.swannysmodels.com/TheCompleteFuture.html
Rick Schmidt Posted November 29, 2011 Posted November 29, 2011 Thanks I'm gonna hold on to that and now I am hopefull on saving the hood
Kaleb Posted November 29, 2011 Posted November 29, 2011 Well I have to send the bullit to mr great so he can clean it up. The paint looked worse than a shriveled up lemon.
martinfan5 Posted November 30, 2011 Author Posted November 30, 2011 Dont fell to bad, most of paint jobs end that way, I go thru a lot of cans of paint by having to strip and re paint
Kaleb Posted November 30, 2011 Posted November 30, 2011 Mr green is what meant. It wasn't the paint, the clear is what done it. I thought I had allowed ample time for the paint to gas out. It should be ready to paint tomorrow evening, that's if I get off work tomorrow.
Kaleb Posted November 30, 2011 Posted November 30, 2011 Duplicolor, it was the paint to clear mix. The paint I have I will have to get the same brand of clear.
martinfan5 Posted November 30, 2011 Author Posted November 30, 2011 Where can I get the side scoops for the windows and body at?
Olskoolrodder Posted November 30, 2011 Posted November 30, 2011 eBay,PSF Hobbies is where I got mine (the other resin hood and he sent side scoops for free...cool guy)
martinfan5 Posted November 30, 2011 Author Posted November 30, 2011 (edited) Thanks for the info, I found the side body scoops last night on the bay, but no window scoops Edit- look what UPS left for me at the front door Edited November 30, 2011 by martinfan5
martinfan5 Posted November 30, 2011 Author Posted November 30, 2011 Went to check out PSF hobbies, and the online store part of the site is missing ,
Rick Schmidt Posted November 30, 2011 Posted November 30, 2011 Hiiiiiiiisssssssssssssssssssssssssssss I see a GM in a Mustang thread !!! lol now I'm starting to feel left out on the GT500s lol I so want one I keep seeing a Satin Black one in an ad in my Stang Mags and think It kinda fits the car so now I need at least two one for that version and my typical all black stripe spoiler delete one lol Still aint touched my Bullit guess I'm still disappointed with it been tinkering with off topic builds like my Roadster Fiero ... Which might be partially on topic depend on what engine I put in lol
martinfan5 Posted November 30, 2011 Author Posted November 30, 2011 I know Rick, it really was not meant to be in the pic , I think a satin black mustang would really mean, and cool. Well dont let to much dust settle on the bullitt
Kaleb Posted December 1, 2011 Posted December 1, 2011 (edited) Thanks guys, now I'm going to do a satin black one lol. That's the color that the bullit is primered in and it does look sweet, And it goes on smooth. Edited December 1, 2011 by Kaleb
Olskoolrodder Posted December 1, 2011 Posted December 1, 2011 Despite the hit'n-miss with the black I used to spray under the green,I was thinking my Bullitt looked sweet in satin black too,LOL! Is it great...or terribly twisted...minds that think alike? Nice haul,Jonathan, even if one's a.....GM Still haven't sat at the bench with the Bullitt since last update, sigh, seems things keep getting in the way (even if that day's "thing" is a lazy, worn down and "just don't feel like it" thing,LOL)
Kaleb Posted December 1, 2011 Posted December 1, 2011 Mr green could not clean the paint up back to sandpaper and elbow grease.
