whale392 Posted December 3, 2011 Posted December 3, 2011 Seems the further you want to take a build, the longer they take! I just looked at Stephens pics of the convertible, and since I commented there, I will not further muck up this thread with that commentary. However, I will say that I can see some real potential for that kit, and will be grabbing a few for myself (great, just what I need, more projects! ) December 15th looks like the start date for my 2010GT kit, as the final bits of the puzzle will be in place (thanks Casey) and I can get started with the mock-up/surgery/mock-up again/more surgery/am I still just mocking this thing up/maybe get some glue to it stage!
martinfan5 Posted December 3, 2011 Author Posted December 3, 2011 You can talk about it in here, it is a 2010 mustang after all
Olskoolrodder Posted December 3, 2011 Posted December 3, 2011 Hiding model kits from the other half Shhhhhhhh Bradley, can't WAIT to see your '10 GT going! I know the following is SN95 talk, but it's cool (and I'm too stuffed to click another thread open,LOL!)...while we were pulling out of Logan's lot in my '94 with the top down (66 degrees out right now,WOOHOO! ),there was a '94-'95 red V6 car went right buy us (we pulled out behind em) with their top down, and we both caught up to a red '99-04 with the top down who was following a red '94-04 hardtop (both V6 cars)...that just felt SO cool,LOL!
martinfan5 Posted December 3, 2011 Author Posted December 3, 2011 Stephen, just giving you a hard time Here is a little tease pic
martinfan5 Posted December 4, 2011 Author Posted December 4, 2011 I was going to get the paint for the bullitt at HL today, but the lines where all way down the isle's , so I picked up some hunter green at wally world, do you think that will work for the bullitt?
Olskoolrodder Posted December 4, 2011 Posted December 4, 2011 It orta be close to the real thing, besides, you're building it for you, right? I SAW an '08 Bullitt out this evening (had to run back out for some Mtn Dew)...such torture
Kaleb Posted December 4, 2011 Posted December 4, 2011 Just the builders personal preference. It's a dark metallic green. Since the metallics in the model paints are too heavy it's best to go with a flat color.

Rick Schmidt Posted December 5, 2011 Posted December 5, 2011 I know the following is SN95 talk, but it's cool (and I'm too stuffed to click another thread open,LOL!)...while we were pulling out of Logan's lot in my '94 with the top down (66 degrees out right now,WOOHOO! ),there was a '94-'95 red V6 car went right buy us (we pulled out behind em) with their top down, and we both caught up to a red '99-04 with the top down who was following a red '94-04 hardtop (both V6 cars)...that just felt SO cool,LOL! Steve I know that feelin hehehe. Got to line up once in my 01 behind a New Edge Bullit and a New Edge V6 that was wearing black after market rims. So three pretty blacked out Stangs runnin a line down the road seemed pretty cool to me hehehe
venom97 Posted December 5, 2011 Posted December 5, 2011 Here's a couple old ones, just recently got an airbrush and compressor so I might strip it and do a different paint job on it. I'm not sure yet, will def be staying with the same style though.
Olskoolrodder Posted December 5, 2011 Posted December 5, 2011 (edited) Jason, looks like an AWESOME start,my friend! Rick: I like leaving Thursday Night Street Fights at Bristol Dragway (with a bit less rubber on the rear tires,HA! ) about the time some other Mustangs do,LOL,this one time (...at band camp... ) there were about a dozen of us in line all the way through town, all with the painted #'s from the racing still on the windows,we got LOTS of looks Edited December 5, 2011 by Olskoolrodder
Captain Obvious Posted December 5, 2011 Posted December 5, 2011 I'm not part of this CBP, but I thought I'd show what I did with my Bullitt, in light of all the Bullitt builds...
Olskoolrodder Posted December 5, 2011 Posted December 5, 2011 (edited) Well,Mark G...you're part of it now,LOL! It isn't so much a build-off as it is a place to share the love of these cars\these kits, welcome to the fold Your Bullitt looks KILLER cool! Edited December 5, 2011 by Olskoolrodder
martinfan5 Posted December 5, 2011 Author Posted December 5, 2011 Mark if you would like to join this build let me know and I will add you on the list, very nice mustang you built there, what blue did you use? Jason, I like the wheels, if you strip it are you going to repaint blue or a different color?
Kaleb Posted December 5, 2011 Posted December 5, 2011 I'm not sure what color to go with on the interior or wheels.
martinfan5 Posted December 5, 2011 Author Posted December 5, 2011 I think black wheels will go good with yellow/orange, was trying to think how to combine the words , came up yellange ,
Kaleb Posted December 5, 2011 Posted December 5, 2011 That's what I was thinking, but I don't know about the lip of the mustang. Like this one...
Olskoolrodder Posted December 6, 2011 Posted December 6, 2011 Oranellow? Looks great to my eye,and I second the blacked out wheels
martinfan5 Posted December 6, 2011 Author Posted December 6, 2011 (edited) Oranellow? Looks great to my eye,and I second the blacked out wheels Stephen, I was thinking doing that combo with the words too, you read my mind. Edit- started to lay down paint on the bullitt, but after I got the second mist coat on, I could tell it was going to be way to light, so the body is in the purple bath, so I think I am going to lay down a black base coat this time. Kaleb Posted December 6, 2011 Posted December 6, 2011 What green did u get? And yes black base would be great.
