brett Posted October 22, 2011 Posted October 22, 2011 While not quite right for either the BB/ big block chev Flopper or the later model (77 I think) AA/ vega, I'm using what I have. Scored some old (unknown) Veney's vega decals and am using an old Revell Schumaker (sp) 73/4 vega kit. Colour is a custom Du Pont red Dont plan on any additional detailing at this stage
W-409 Posted October 22, 2011 Posted October 22, 2011 Great to see more Vega Funny Cars here. That color looks very good, and it will sure look good with those decals. I can't wait to see more progress with it, so keep us posted.
Mooneyzs Posted October 22, 2011 Posted October 22, 2011 Brett... this is awesome to see another Vega Funny car on here. this is gonna be a nice build and its off to a good start
mytricia Posted October 22, 2011 Posted October 22, 2011 can't wait to see more. the vega is a project i will be starting soon-i hope. lol.keep up the great work
1320wayne Posted October 22, 2011 Posted October 22, 2011 What you are working with looks good. The only way to build this car accurate would be to use the late 70's Vega resin body from Comp. Resins but what you have will be fine, especially considering the body made available in the original kit wasn't accurate either.
Mister Twister Posted October 22, 2011 Posted October 22, 2011 Anxious to see this come alive Brett...Keep it coming!
John Teresi Posted October 22, 2011 Posted October 22, 2011 Brett.......looking good!!!!!.......can`t wait to see this finished.
Nitrozilla Posted October 22, 2011 Posted October 22, 2011 It's okay Brett. You don't have to put in a Hemi as long as you at least WANT to put one in. It's the thought that counts my friend of little furry footed people. Bazinga.
Truck parts Posted October 22, 2011 Posted October 22, 2011 BRETT, IS THAT RED IN COLOR OR WHAT? LOOKING GOOD SO FAR
brett Posted November 4, 2011 Author Posted November 4, 2011 Thanks guys, been really busy lately and to be honest to tired to do much in the way of modelling (worried I'd screw something up), but got a little more done' btw Gordon, you want red? checkout this shot with the flash on
Dr. Cranky Posted November 4, 2011 Posted November 4, 2011 That looks very cool. I've always loved the VEGA . . .
eviltwincustoms Posted November 4, 2011 Posted November 4, 2011 Nice progress on the chassis Brent! I have always liked the Vega for the fact that they are small and you can do a lot with them on a budget. I am more of the fan of 70-71 split bumper's. And of course my all time favorite full bumper Vega right now is the Woolly Mammoth (76 Vega wagon) from "Pinks All Out".
Mister Twister Posted November 5, 2011 Posted November 5, 2011 That red looks good....keep at it Brett!
brett Posted November 10, 2011 Author Posted November 10, 2011 Thanks guys, got the decaling started today need to find a couple more, will checkout Slixx soon
Dr. Cranky Posted November 10, 2011 Posted November 10, 2011 That looks wonderful. I can see the attraction to this subject matter. They always turn out very cool.
Mooneyzs Posted November 11, 2011 Posted November 11, 2011 Brett... this is turning out great man!!. The decals are looking great on that body. Nice work man!!
brett Posted November 12, 2011 Author Posted November 12, 2011 Thanks guys, hoping to get some more work done on it tomorrow
brett Posted November 23, 2011 Author Posted November 23, 2011 well tomorrow took a long time coming but I have some progress ride height had to grind away some of the tin work a little to get it to sit down but that wont take to much to tidy up, bit of a wet sand and polish, glue the wheels together fit the screen and chute and she'll be done and on to the next victim
1320wayne Posted November 23, 2011 Posted November 23, 2011 Looks good Brett. The stance is right there also.
Mister Twister Posted November 24, 2011 Posted November 24, 2011 Thats another standout piece for your collection...Nice work!
Dave42 Posted November 25, 2011 Posted November 25, 2011 Hey, cool build here. Decal work looks good. I've got a Gene Snow Vega waiting in the wings. This is certainly motivation to move it closer to the top of the to do list. Later,
brett Posted December 2, 2011 Author Posted December 2, 2011 Thanks guys, last shots before the under glass ones, ie clearer with no clutter.
