krazyglu Posted October 22, 2011 Posted October 22, 2011 Started this one last wednesday and I'm moving right along. Pretty much letting my blade do the work.Still quite a lot of work to be done but the plan on color being fifties aqua and the frame in gloss black. Thanks for looking
Dennis Lacy Posted October 23, 2011 Posted October 23, 2011 Looks like you are off to a good start! Should look good in those colors you're planning. What kind of engine are you thinking it will have? Oh, and one more question: Are you sure you got it low enough? LOL!
krazyglu Posted October 23, 2011 Author Posted October 23, 2011 I'm going with the kit supplied flathead. Its going to be a basically stock motor with a few scratch built parts. Ha its definitely low enough....guess your not getting much in the bed of this truck Thanks again for looking
Terror Posted October 23, 2011 Posted October 23, 2011 Thats nice .I like the frame work, thanks for showing it.
krazyglu Posted October 29, 2011 Author Posted October 29, 2011 Hello everyone. Managed to get some paint on a few items. The frame is black metallic along with the axle and rear end. I have the motor almost painted and I still have fuel lines and spark plug wires. I did get the brass knuckle shifter and bug catcher for the carb made......still have the headers to make. Wheels have been shot in fifties aqua and I'm loving the color. Still sanding away on the cab and bed......
Ryan S. Posted October 29, 2011 Posted October 29, 2011 Coming along nicely. I love the brass knuckles on the shifter!
Dr. Cranky Posted October 29, 2011 Posted October 29, 2011 Wonderful work on that frame! Beautiful. Keep it going.
Camshaft Posted October 29, 2011 Posted October 29, 2011 Looks awesome! Is this the Lindberg 3-in-1 kit with the crane and all of that stuff?
krazyglu Posted October 29, 2011 Author Posted October 29, 2011 Yes indeed this is the Linberg 3-in-1 kit and infact it is the first Lindberg model kit I have built. Thanks for the kind words guys
Camshaft Posted October 30, 2011 Posted October 30, 2011 Dang, that sucker is low! I read somewhere that this is a reissue of an old AMT kit.
John Teresi Posted October 30, 2011 Posted October 30, 2011 Steven......coming along nicely......look`s great man.
Fuel Coupe Posted October 30, 2011 Posted October 30, 2011 reminds me of sumthin your truck looks great..
krazyglu Posted October 30, 2011 Author Posted October 30, 2011 whaaaa...is that your 1:1 Shane? Wow that thing is gnarly looking. Dam* dude I love It and my model looks really close to matching haha. I thought my bed might look better shorter like yours ...I might still do it. I want my headers to look just like those also. Too cool thanks for sharing that picture Shane I'm stoked now. Thanks John your definitely a big motivator for me.
Dr. Cranky Posted October 30, 2011 Posted October 30, 2011 Love it, that frame is highly stylized and I really like it with those rounded edges. Great job. Keep it going.
krazyglu Posted November 8, 2011 Author Posted November 8, 2011 Well got some color on the cab and the did some more hacking here and there. Engine is done minus the headers...which I still do not have figured out yet. Interior is also done, but I'm afraid its hard to see in there with that chopped top. I don't know why the steering wheel was painted candy red...It seemed quite fitting even though it does not match the paint scheme. Seats are black vinyl pleats...nothing fancy. Hope to have this done by the end of the month. Thanks for looking
Camshaft Posted November 8, 2011 Posted November 8, 2011 Red and green are complementary colours. I think it looks great! My daily has a similar theme: candy green with red interior accents. When done subtly and tastefully as you have, it's positively striking!
MikeMc Posted November 9, 2011 Posted November 9, 2011 Two options on headers...go stock and make a set of turnouts with glasspacks.... Or some .062 solder and bend up a set . Both quick and easy! Is that TS62 Green? I 've done a couple with it.....
