Bruno Posted November 1, 2011 Posted November 1, 2011 Ok I need a Pegasus Hobbies wheel expert here! I am ready to order some Pegasus wheels and tires, never used any of those wheels yet. I want bigger wheels/tires on the rear, and I understand those wheel/tires sets are all the same size. So I thought I would use the Pegasus sleeves sets, but now I see they have 3 different sleeve sets and don't know which sleeves will fit the rims I want. For reference, I am looking at the #1202 (tri-blades) and #1246 (diablo's) wheel sets, and I see (on the Pegasus Hobbies site) three different part numbers for alum. sleeves; #1195, #2398 and #2399. Now which alum. sleeve set should I order to fit those wheels?
Bruno Posted November 1, 2011 Author Posted November 1, 2011 Ok thanks for the info! But how do I know if the tri-blades and diablo's are 19s? I just saw on the Model Express site that #1195 sleeves convert 15s to 19s, and you say #2399 sleeves convert 19s to 23s, but nowhere on the tri-blades or diablo's it says if they are 15s or 19s... Are all Pegasus wheels 19s? (and then the #1195 sleeves are to convert regular kit wheels to 19s?)
Bruno Posted November 4, 2011 Author Posted November 4, 2011 Ok then I'll order a 1195 set and try modifying some kit wheels. Thanks for the help!
Mad Slammer Posted April 22, 2023 Posted April 22, 2023 Man, I know this post is Ollllllld... But here are my two cents... 1195's are as you state, to convert kit 15"wheels to 19" wheels and tires... I think these are based on some Detail Master rims that were availabe some time ago... 2398's and 2399's are to convert 19" rims to 23" wheel size, they come in stepped and smooth rim finish and also used to be available in red, blue, purple anodized finish. Y have used some Tamiya and Aoshima rims with these sleeves and have had nice results. Hope this helps out...
peteski Posted April 22, 2023 Posted April 22, 2023 Actually I enjoyed reading this thread from 2011, and how Bruno (who himself hasn't visited here since 21018) was having a 1-way conversation, answering his own questions. Almost as if we are missing some posts in between his questions.

I'd love to have about a 1/2 dozen 19" sets ?
Bills72sj Posted April 23, 2023 Posted April 23, 2023 Get yourself a mini lathe and some aluminum tubing. You can make any hoop you want.
