Greg Pugh Posted November 9, 2011 Posted November 9, 2011 Bubble skirts if you can make 'em look like that!
Mr.Zombie Posted November 9, 2011 Posted November 9, 2011 Awesome work! Almost a shame to cover it in glossy paint! This one screams flat! I am blown away.

Mazdat Posted November 11, 2011 Author Posted November 11, 2011 i agree on those 2nd skirts. 10 outta 10 on the craftsmanship. also im diggin those impala's in the back. got any build up threads on either em? Not yet, I'm painting that 67 in the back ground, I'm taking pics as I move along. I'm also going to make a thread on the red 4 door Merc, probably tomorrow
rustybill1960 Posted November 11, 2011 Posted November 11, 2011  WOW! That is some "spectacular" body work Dude!! The work on the headlights is super! Let alone the roof and door work!! WOW! I like the second choice of fender skirts. Thank You for sharing with Us all! I am gonna eye-ball this for sure!! Later Russ
Mazdat Posted November 12, 2011 Author Posted November 12, 2011 Little update on the 2nd Merc, decided to go with the second choice, skirts still little rough, not going exactly like the 1:1, but similar, what do you guys think?
Mazdat Posted November 12, 2011 Author Posted November 12, 2011 That's lookin' like somethin'! Nice job! Thanx!!!
Foxer Posted November 12, 2011 Posted November 12, 2011 (edited) Those skirts look great. How did you form the bubble in them? Looks like maybe .02" sheet and just bent and glued? Edited November 12, 2011 by Foxer
walt francis Posted November 12, 2011 Posted November 12, 2011 Looks like a HOMERUN to me and here is something to ponder on

Mazdat Posted November 26, 2011 Author Posted November 26, 2011 Finally got some color on the 2nd Merc, the color wasn't what I wanted , but it still looks ok I think. What do you guys think?
Greg Pugh Posted November 26, 2011 Posted November 26, 2011 I like the color. What are you not wild about?
Mazdat Posted November 26, 2011 Author Posted November 26, 2011 I like the color. What are you not wild about? It was suppose to look more blue than purple, and when the light hits it, the red pearl was suppose to show. I was looking at it last night, the red pearl does show at certain angles, and the green pearl, it actually looks pretty good. I still have to clear it.
walt francis Posted November 26, 2011 Posted November 26, 2011 I hope it is growing on you because it looks great in that color
Mazdat Posted November 26, 2011 Author Posted November 26, 2011 I hope it is growing on you because it looks great in that color Thanx!!! It actually is, I'm liking it! I can't wait to clear it, I know its going to look alot better
Greg Pugh Posted November 26, 2011 Posted November 26, 2011 So that's BEFORE clear? Oh, this is going to be a knock-out!
Mazdat Posted November 26, 2011 Author Posted November 26, 2011 So that's BEFORE clear? Oh, this is going to be a knock-out! Yeah, before clear...it looks like its cleared in the pics
W-409 Posted November 27, 2011 Posted November 27, 2011 I must say, that I like that body shaping very much. It's clean and especially that look of the frontend is really nice, fender skirts are very good looking too. Nice paintjob, and I can see that bodywork is done nicely. Smooth paint and rough bodywork doesn't fit together, but this model doesn't have that kind of problems. Great color, very shiny and smooth.
crazyjim Posted November 27, 2011 Posted November 27, 2011 I don't know how I missed this build. Wow - that Merc is looking good - and SHINY :)
