Have you gotten anywhere on this build per chance?

This is why I hate Work In Progress threads. You get wrapped up in a build -- like this one, which hasn't been updated in a year and a half -- and it evaporates. Better to save the WIP until the kit is done, then show a complete build journal.

I disagree :D

Even the name 'work in progress' already stated the nature of the topic, otherwise you could name it 'the build before completion'-topic...

Other than the name, I like to keep the WIP thread as a diary, I add when I make progress and sometimes there are gaps in my posts, don't we have that all?

I know for sure, that if I had to post a topic of the build AFTER completion, I would not make any. Making small contributions each time, works better than a whole book at once.

The Porsche is still here and will be worked on in a while, in the meantime: Don't hold your breath! :P

I agree with you 100%! :)

I was just looking at this and I just realized now that I could have more easily solved your transmission issue. Take a page from the corvette book. You could have just done a torque tube to rear mounted trans axle setup! Allows for a small tunnel.

First time I saw this. Looks like a fun engineering project.

To take a perspective similar to a post you made yesterday,"Then why do you look at them?". (I'll refrain from suggesting you go build something...)

I see a lot of WIP threads that wither away, but that doesn't mean the information offered isn't worthy of being shared. Plus some projectts are huge undertakings and it is somewhat expected for there to be delays in updates. As some people point out, this is a hobby and sometimes life interrupts it.

It is also interesting to me to see how other builders approach/attack problems in semi-real time, not just explain how they did it after the fact.

Very well said. I'm one who gets irritated after following a WIP and becoming a fan, and then having it stop. But your points are very well-taken and have caused me to alter that point of view.

I'm sorry Skip....it can be worse....I started the 1/16 Citroen DS from Heller the day we moved into our new house. It was going to be my first project in this house, but it is still laying around. I think we moved in in may 2010. So there you go.

The Porsche is just a what slower project and I haven't giving it full on dedication, maybe I will later on, but till then it is just a side-project. Soon I'll be starting the Pocher and even though it will be full-on dedicated, I don't expect to finish that one within a year, I hope within two years.

I estimated to take a year for the chassis and engine and a year for the body and interior with all the modifications.
