Darin Bastedo Posted November 4, 2011 Posted November 4, 2011 (edited) Yuk on the stripe and double yuk on the double roll bars... At least the double rollbars serve a purpose, not much of one, but they do serve a purpose. When asked about the effectiveness of the roll bar on his cobra, Ken Miles was quoated as saying, "It's a reminder that you don't want to to be upside down in one of these." Harry P. Posted November 4, 2011 Posted November 4, 2011 I think it might have been cool to do the snakeskin deal in a ghosted, subtle way... maybe even cover the whole car with it, but faded back so that it's there, but not so "in your face" there. Sort of like ghost flames. "Ghost scales!"

And come to think about it, has anyone ever seen the after photos where someone rolled one and walked out thanks to the "hoop" ???
Rob Hall Posted November 5, 2011 Posted November 5, 2011 Blech. Would look better w/o the tasteless graphics.
Lunajammer Posted November 5, 2011 Posted November 5, 2011 Different is good, for that reason I like it. But it belongs on Rodeo Drive, not Watkins Glen. Junkman, I don't know what "pikey" means, but it sounds perfect.
Darin Bastedo Posted November 6, 2011 Posted November 6, 2011 and that's only if those rollbars are actually functional, which i seriously doubt they are on the car in this thread. more than likely they are thin wall tube that's been plated for maximum "bling" factor and serve no purpose other than to look pretty. Cobra's and Viper's too for that matter have a certain "presence" that really needs nothing else. if you feel the need to street rod either one, you've got some issues, or you have the wrong car. the Cobra in this thread is worse than a balding middle aged man in a Corvette. it's right up there with grandpa in a thong Speedo, it's gross and disgusting and just wrong on so many levels The actual function I was alluding to was that they remind you you really don't want to get in a wreck in one of these. They often end very badly. Even if the were made out of the real roll bar material, they wouldn't do much except add a hospital ride to your cost of settling your estate.
Craig Irwin Posted November 6, 2011 Posted November 6, 2011 Nothing that ditching the "roll bars" and a respray wouldn't fix.
