Andrew Posted November 3, 2011 Posted November 3, 2011 After starting the thread in the drag racing about British Gassers, thought I had better actually start the build of this one! The real one is on the left! (i hope to do honky Tonkin later). I started with the Revell kit and gathered a few bits, MCG etch set, steering wheel, R and D Unique 9" Ford and a couple of types of slicks. I have a good shot of the inside of the trunk (boot for us Brits!) so I have cut the lid out using the back of an xacto - just needs cleaning up The chassis rails are narrowed at the rear so I had a lot of cutting to get the rails seperate! Sorry about the pics of a white car on a white background, just what I had to hand, I'll change to blue next time!
Dr. Cranky Posted November 3, 2011 Posted November 3, 2011 Great picture to start with, and now great progress. Keep it going.
george 53 Posted November 3, 2011 Posted November 3, 2011 Pics look great, not to worry! This is gonna be a fun build, I can tell already! You GO Bro!!!!
W-409 Posted November 3, 2011 Posted November 3, 2011 This is going to be very interesting. Gassers are great. Nice job with opening the trunk, and chassis modifications look very good too. Keep it going, I'll be watching this one.
LAone Posted November 3, 2011 Posted November 3, 2011 i like how this is looking so far. looking forward to more.
gasser59 Posted November 3, 2011 Posted November 3, 2011 Oh yeah!! Glad to see you started a separate thread on this one. Did Lucas get the decals done? Really looking forward to this as I really like gassers.

57peppershaker Posted November 4, 2011 Posted November 4, 2011 Looking good from the start Andrew. I'm gonna be watching this one. I'd better get my finger out & start Honky Tonkin for that grudge race !
Andrew Posted November 12, 2011 Author Posted November 12, 2011 Just a small update I'm afraid, trying to get a truck done too! Got the inner wings cut out Before After and also sanded and cut all the interior door detail away as the Rat has ally panels with bead rolling, so I used 20 thou plastic sheet and half round rod to replicate this.
