Kaleb Posted January 7, 2012 Posted January 7, 2012 Looks great, I've been wanting to build a shop but I don't think my wife will let me use her desk.
JamesW Posted January 7, 2012 Author Posted January 7, 2012 Gotta get your own desk man, if you got the room for it. I have a pretty large shop, ALL to myself. I do need a bigger desk though. It's been cleaned up since these pics were taken. I'll also be getting a Pace paint booth in April.
Kaleb Posted January 16, 2012 Posted January 16, 2012 I have mine but I don't have a place to leave it yet. We're looking for a place to live so I can have room to work on my 1:1s as well.
JamesW Posted May 12, 2012 Author Posted May 12, 2012 Decided to work on the dio a little today. Picked up some doors and windows from the train section on Ebay. Might add a plate glass window, not sure yet.
heepey Posted May 14, 2012 Posted May 14, 2012 (edited) For floors like that I found some paper with that pattern at Hobby Lobby. They have an aged pattern as well. .59 a sheet. I now need to build a showroom dio to use it. Edited May 14, 2012 by heepey
KHamilton Posted May 14, 2012 Posted May 14, 2012 That office interior is fantastic! ULTRA realistic. GREAT job!
JamesW Posted June 21, 2012 Author Posted June 21, 2012 From you, Mr. Hamilton, that is a great compliment. I really need to get your book, but WOW they are expensive.
JamesW Posted July 18, 2012 Author Posted July 18, 2012 4 post lift in the early stages. Adjustable with 3 positions. Still needs some detailing and paint.
nboldman Posted July 18, 2012 Posted July 18, 2012 Hey James, How did you make the edging around the garage doors? And I bought that same door off ebay that youve got on yours! Good work on the 4 post lift! Im strting my dio tomorrow as soon as i get some basswood because he balsa was just to flimsy!
GTMust Posted July 19, 2012 Posted July 19, 2012 This is really coming together great. Like your attention to detail. Tony
charlie8575 Posted July 30, 2012 Posted July 30, 2012 This is coming out nicely. Nice job on scratching the lift, too. Charlie Larkin
FatManScaleDesigns Posted July 31, 2012 Posted July 31, 2012 This garage is really turning out great. Good job James, I wish my skill allowed me to do something like this.
JamesW Posted July 31, 2012 Author Posted July 31, 2012 Thanks for the words of encouragement guys, it means a lot. Alberto, I have NO skill. I just build it the way I see it in my head. Obviously it's been a SLOW process.
FatManScaleDesigns Posted July 31, 2012 Posted July 31, 2012 LOL but if you rushed it it wouldn't have came out so good. Do you have a link to where you got the doors and Windows from? Thanks
JamesW Posted July 31, 2012 Author Posted July 31, 2012 No link, but I got them from the g scale train section on Ebay.
southpier Posted July 31, 2012 Posted July 31, 2012 That office interior is fantastic! ULTRA realistic. GREAT job! From you, Mr. Hamilton, that is a great compliment. I really need to get your book, but WOW they are expensive. huh?
JamesW Posted July 31, 2012 Author Posted July 31, 2012 Ken is the author of this book. http://www.amazon.ca/Build-Creative-Dioramas-Scale-Models/dp/0890243409
GTMust Posted August 1, 2012 Posted August 1, 2012 James... not to be a "buttinski".... but either Ken was thinking your pictures of your "office" was a model..... or his comments were tongue in cheek, or maybe..... I'm just going senile! Of course... if it was a model......... !!!!!! LOL Tony
JamesW Posted August 1, 2012 Author Posted August 1, 2012 Guess I didn't think of it like that. LOL Guess I should learn to read BETWEEN the lines.
dannyi Posted August 1, 2012 Posted August 1, 2012 James your garage is looking really nice, great job! Looking forward to seeing it completed.
